Jeff Choate supposedly going to join Peterson at Washington.
He was probably fired. He was a terrible coach.
champ will look at the now defunct texas staff to fill the vacancy.
The kickers were awful, the rest of the ST were good. Other sources report he wants to go out west where he is more comfortable. Many know whom they want to replace him.
Whom might that be?
Kickoff Return Defense-4th-0Tds, 15.85 avg
Punt Return Defense-13th-0 Tds ,3.77 yd avg
Pretty good except for kicking woes.
Don't taze me, but I'd hire Ron Zook for recruiting alone...
Didn't do much with the LBs either.
could very well be addition by subtraction.
He was the OLB coach so Fowler and Powell those two played fine . ILB's was Durkin and Mike Peterson
Our special teams play was good last year
what was terrible about his units?
Actually, except for the kicking woes, special teams were very good. Kickoff return defense ranked 4th with no Tds and a 15.85 avg and punt return defense ranked 13th with no Tds and a 3.77 avg.
He is saying now he isnt going anywhere, and these rumors are BS. Also told he is still likely gone.
The Zooker was an excellent recruiter, and relentless in recruiting.
Who? Jeff Choate our SP coach
You can't separate kicking defense from the rest of the special teams. The special teams were woeful. Kick return defense was pretty good. But, blocking, FG kicking, punting, kick-offs, Kick returns, punt returns ... you know, what most people think about when you say special teams, ... they sucked.
