unlike the killing of Martin.....this incident was caught on video
If it had, there probably would never have been a trial.
Some differences in this case like she went over board with 4 rounds I think. Also would need to know why the man was there giving her so much problems. It looks like she had the right to defend herself but need more info.
If she is not found guilty of murder, will Jay Z and gang boycott Texas as well? George Zimmerman at least got his ass kicked before he shot someone.
And where are Jesse and Al? I guess the fact that the shooter wasn't a "white Latino" means this death isn't a national tragedy like Trayvon.
So where is the outrage over 'another senseless killing of a black man.'. I would have expected our President to claim this black man 'could have been my brother'. Where are Sharpton and Jackson? Where are all those posters claiming a jury that listened to all the facts of the Zimmerman case got it wrong based on the partial information they have. Where is the outrage??? Oh. I forgot. The shooter was a black woman. Nothing to see here.
Three things to take from this incident......
Ron White was wrong. You can fix stupid.
Don't piss off a well armed sister.
Don't go after someone carrying a rifle with a pocket knife.
Here's the best archive of SYG cases in Florida since the law went into effect
There are 200+ cases...
Tell me, how many of these cases have you heard about?
The racial makeup of the case, contrary to the conservative belief here, has not been the deciding factor in whether or not a case has received a lot of media coverage.
Trayvon Martin's would have received NO media coverage at all if the Martin family didn't pursue a media campaign.
Those who are insinuating why media covers one SYG case but not another are distorting the truth about the coverage of these cases.
The Tampa case where a black man shot a white man was covered quite extensively
The case of the Jax woman sentenced to 20 years has received a lot of coverage
(Black on Black)
The Jordan Davis shooting by Michael Dunn (White on Black) has received a lot of attention
Trayvon Martin (Hispanic on Black) received a lot of attention
Is there a bias in coverage?
I tend to disagree. After how many of those 200+ cases was there so much outrage that Stevie Wonder, Jay Z, Alicia Keys, etc etc decided to boycott a whole state over the law? If race is not the issue here then what is exactly?
If Trayvon were a Korean child, or Latino child would Jesse and Al be involved? Would the boycotts still take place?
If you answer yes to either question you're either lieing to us or yourself.
You are right Ceal
Whoops I forgot the link
That's the sad part of all this. Apathy. Look the other way. Don't get involved. It's very possible this could have all been prevented through intervention. A calm head could have cooled off both of them. I would have disarmed the knife-wielder. End of story. If she then shot him, then it's murder.
Who takes an umbrella to a gun fight? A few more genes taken out of the cess pool.
First, the story of Jay-Z Madonna Timberlake boycotting etc. is not true....
Second, the involvement of Sharpton & Jackson was at the bequest of the Martin family.
That's my point....Trayvon wouldn't have been covered either.
The family sought a PR campaign to get their questions answered otherwise you wouldn't know who GZ was either.
It took an online petition and the Martin family seeking out Sharpton & Jackson to even get national media attention on the story after the Sanford PD chose not to charge GZ.
The awareness of SYG to quite literally to the nation & the global is what drove the media coverage and created the public attention.
The difference is that people are convinced an actual wrong was done regardless of the state not having enough evidence to convict.
He needed killin'.
I mean, they post the signs very clearly there: "Welcome to Texas, now don't F#ck up."
I have no doubt whatsoever that indeed, the Reverends Sharpton and Jackson, received a bequest from somebody - and probably a large one - and most likely the litigants to the HOA suit, else they would never have gotten involved.
I appreciate your candor.
I see so you are saying our President fell all in on a PR campaign. I can see that.
A soon-to-be dead person.
