I'd much rather have Adoree than Prince... Even though Prince is a great get, I think we have enough guys on the line to fill that roll unlike a Percy Harvin type player like Adoree.

What does closing even mean? And plus who cares if Muschamp can't "close" he got every major target that was a need. Grier, Sharpe, Tabor, Goolsby, 3 stud D lineman. We really only have 3 "big" names that announce on signing day and 1 of them has been a Georgia lean for a while. I'd rather have Muschamp recruit to keep kids committed rather than fight to get them to commit on NSD.

When we had Urban, we all were jealous of the UTexas-style recruiting where all the hard work was done early in the cycle. We wished we had a coach who finished the class early with time to spare.
Now that we've got the coach responsible for the UTexas style of recruiting, people miss the Urban Meyer days of praying for USC, UT, and Alabama recruits to suddenly see the light on NSD and magically switch to us. Funny, I don't remember any of those recruits switching either, although Meyer always seemed to count on it.

I am by no means a Muschamp defender, look at my post record. But I much prefer his method of controlling the recruiting chaos and dictating the terms over Urban's philosophy of letting tools like Nukeese dictate the terms of the agreement. I'd rather play with an undersized class of kids that really want to be here than to play with an 85 man roster full of Greg Reids, Nukeeses, and Dalvin Cooks.

The idea of "closing" in recruiting is stupid. After tomorrow we can count up who we got, regardless of when we knew we'd have them. I suspect we'll have a top ten class which is strong at positions of need. After a 4-8 season that's a fine recruiting class by any measure.

If we had 26 primary recruits filling all of our positions of need and/or getting play makers right now, I'd care less about tomorrow. We don't because UF has to be so careful about too many players & wanted to leave room for the top guys. Now our secondary targets are off the table & based on what the recruiting site gurus are saying, I don't even know if we'll fill out the class!

One thing Muschamp seems to do, and it's the same thing Texas does every year, is secure their needs as quickly as possible... classes are complete long before NSD, while still recruiting other guys and holding out some spots for last minute decisions.

I don't know if that's something that Muschamp picked up at UTex, but if not it's an interesting coincidence.

At least wait until Thursday morning so you don't have to worry about eating a big steaming pile of crow.

We won't get them all, no matter what. Some of these kids may be waiting to see what others do. You think if A. Jackson commits here, that McKenzie will commit right behind him? To play the same role?

Mommas and daddies want to watch their kids play in person without having to hitchhike across the country. Most of these kids don't have parents that are CEO's. Geography and family hurt us a lot because Gainesville is somewhat out-of-the-way.

We don't have the bling-bling mojo that univ. of fs and scum do for in-state kids.

A LOT working against us this NSD. Hoping for surprises.

This seems to be the case with us, lately, but not schools like 'bama... For some reason distance is never a problem for their recruits.

All in all I'll wait until signing day is over to rate our coaching staffs recruiting class...

Top ten is good, but we got a lot of "needs" so that's a big plus, IMHO.

Right. If you told me to pick one I'd say Adoree if he were going to play offense.

There are many reasons to run Muschamp out of town. Recruiting is not one of them. Lighten up.
