any thoughts on Kennedy as an assistant coach?
That would be fantastic
My only concern with this sort of idea is that you're essentially renting a coach for a year or two until he gets another head coaching gig. Now, Andy Kennedy doesn't seem like the kind of guy who's going to be in huge demand, but if you bring him on board as an assistant he'll just be marking time until he can get back on top.
Doesn't mean it's a bad idea, of course. Just something I always think about when a recently fired head coach is floated as a potential assistant.
Good relationship with White, knows the league, brings some head coaching experience to the table, but has never been known as a great recruiter or tactician, nor does he offer much different by way of scheme.
Well, we rented Larry Shyatt for a couple of years. The result? He definitely upgraded our defense, something that helped Donovan and UF for quite a few years thereafter. I'll gladly take a couple of years of Kennedy, a former SEC head coach. To be honest, he is overqualified.
He enabled Henderson. Is he prepared to hear a different message?
Renting him for a year or two? Apparently, we only rented the last guy for a month.
You win the internet today.
Well the state of Mississippi does seem to be UFs training ground these days.
I think I’d rather Udonis Haslem.
