I understand the firing, but they will not get anyone better. I saw a stat that said after UK and Fla, ole miss is 3rd in wins in the sec since kennedy was been there. That is pretty good.

I assume things have just gotten stale. 12 years of being pretty consistently in the middle of the pack. Doubt they get much better than him, but I understand at least giving it a try after such a long period.

Unless Mike is feeling unappreciated, I doubt he would take it.

That is pretty good, but the rest of the SEC has been weak for most of that time. There have been some big time hires recently and a resurgence. At some point you have to win, otherwise it is time for a change. They have been to the NCAA Tourney twice under him. It was time.

Do we have tNetwork in place to start basketball recruiting? IDK how we’re going to get anyone if we don’t start buying basketball players like the rest of the league.

Exactly. Bill Self didn't leave Kansas for Oklahoma State. It is hard to imagine a scenario where the call is anything but a courtesy.

Lol..I mean, the guy was born in Florida. I would hope this is where he wants to stay for at least 5 years. Duke is the program I would worry about personally.

I think that the current Duke AD would have to step down as part of a package deal for that to happen.

And I suspect that the next Duke coach will be someone from the Coach K coaching family tree. After that is an abject failure I would start to worry.

I see your point but think it's a much different scenario. Nebraska can measure up to any football program, 46 conference titles, 5 national titles. Ole Miss basketball has been to the sweet 16 one time in their entire history. White's been here 3 seasons as opposed to Frost's 1 and wouldn't want to rebuild at a program that's really low on the totem pole. He's targeting a place like Duke where his dad is the AD. In 5-10 years whenever coach K retires, and assuming White continues the success here, he'll have earned that job and it'd make sense for him to part ways with us.

I am worried that they might try and poach Hamilton from FSU. I want Leonard there as long as possible.

Maybe hire Micheal Henderson as the new coach and change the mascot name once again. This time to "The Blazers".

I actually think it would be cool if mike White hired Kennedy to be an assistant if one of his assistants gets a job somewhere else. He is a great developer of bigs.

I have to think they are going to go the "Avery Johnson" route. I am not sure who fits that bill right now. Penny Hardaway is like that.
