When Walker does play I am hoping GN will be patient. We might be thinking he's going to play with awesome sauce but that may not happen at least not at first. He's going to be nervous, will make mistakes, will look like a freshman at times, but whenever he does mess up, we need to imo lay off. BD is saying as much. I think he will do well but if he doesn't I'm not going to be critical. I do think the sky's the limit and so glad he's been freed. PS, I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir.

The way he gets so far above the rim is fun to watch.

For the most part I don't think knowledgeable fans are going to expect the world when he hits the court. Some may but then that's just the way it goes at times. I think Billy says he has already gained 10 lbs working with the trainers which is good. He still has a lot to learn but by tourney time he should be rounding into shape.

Just start off with five, ten minutes a game, block a shot or two as the back-end of our 1-3-1, give Pat a break occasionally, maybe if things are going well hit a Speights-Against-Ohio-State jumper, and that'll be fine. There will be time for Chris to become a bigger part of things.

Agreed. If he can spell Young and Yeguete for a few minutes and prevent us from having to go to a small lineup, that's gravy. Anything more is icing.

Bullis33, ball down hill? I think it was you that used that description some time ago. Looks like you were right.

All I'm expecting is five more fouls, more rest for Pat, a couple of blocks, a couple of putbacks, and a couple of highlight dunks. Anything else is gravy.

This guy is an athletic freak. He could be the next Blake Griffin, with some Tim Duncan thrown in for good measure. I'd love for him to stay another year, but he's going to make millions in the NBA next year. At least we have him for this run to glory. 'ship or bust now, folks!

Maybe Yeguete is the one who has been spelling it wrong. :)

Its no guarentee that Walker leaves. As I have been saying, he is a fringe first rounder right now. He really wants to play with Hill and others. If he is a good as advertised and we win the national title I still think he may return for a full season with Billy helping him to get even better. If he had played the whole season I think he may have left, but at the moment I say he comes back.

Unfortunately, most fans are not very knowledgable. So, their expectations are going to be through the roof, which, of course, is utterly unreasonable. Particularly the displaced football fans who moved to basketball due to the horrifying football season.

Although I think he would probably like to do that, his guardian is really, really, really poor, and the draw of NBA money is likely to simply be too difficult to resist. Also, until athlete start getting some spending money, which doesn't happen now, except at places where the coaches and boosters cheat (which is most places), he likely can't even afford to go out and buy a pizza.

There is actually a silver lining to his lengthy "suspension." He has had an opportunity to practice with the team extensively without the pressure of playing. It may well be that his waiting time was more of a benefit to him . . . and the team . . . than a detriment.
