Now we just need to figure out why most of the countries who scored better than us have much more liberal governments.

    The test is obviously biased.

Nah the tests are fine, I think school prayer is giving those countries an unfair advantage. You keep God out of the public schools, and he's going to bump scores down a few notches. For spite.

......... guess those countries have reasonable intelligent liberals where the US ...... well ...... the test results speak for themselves. Hmm ...... who's controlled the US public school systems for the last 50 or so years? Yep ...... the lefties.

I think you have to really strain to find a pattern between a group's place on an ideological spectrum and the "results" as you call them, especially because these are value judgments. The right hates liberals, so I would assume that the right would consider Obama a failure. And the same for Bush with the left's feelings on conservatives. I don't think we really prove much by reinforcing this truism.

Instead of this being a left/right thing, maybe it should be a thing where we figure out what other folks are doing better than us, and we embrace the best of it and apply it here.

    Just a thought.

Get out of here with that.

It simply must be solely the fault of one political party! Otherwise how can we pat ourselves on the back and blame all of our woes on a boogieman?

Well, I wonder if let's say we tested people from rich districts only. Would our scores go up?

So ... in spite of the NEA, leftist-controlled school systems, and the USDofE ..... the scores were lower?

Don't say it too loud, someone will be looking to redistribute that knowledge to other less fortunate states.

If only they'd administer that "gay test," of the Arab states to us. I'll bet we'd ace that sucker!

How many of those countries have the size, population, diversity, and immigration that ours has?
