Yep. Just another victim less "crime"

It should have been legalized yesteryear. The war on drugs is the war on personal freedom. These criminals say we don't have the personal sovereignty to put in our bodies what we please (mary jane), but oh, here...have some tobacco, have some alcohol. Ain't it great to be "free" ?

I'm with this completely. And the kid was in his own dorm... it's not like he was pulling a JJ and doing it in public.

    Stop the madness.

    double standard

player smokes pot- suspension/sent to diversion program

Coach smokes pot- forced to resign

If Pellini had a strong winning record he would not have been forced out

Probably true. Of course the coach is getting paid big bucks to be the face of the program, the leader of the team and an example for the team.

I don't think pot should be illegal, but as long as it is, the coach should be held to a higher standard than his players. IMO.

Even if it were legal it wouldn't be allowed in a college dorm... Just like alcohol. Good thing about alcohol is one can't smell it from the hallway. So anyway you look at it, it's still stupid.

Good point, but lets say it was legal, wouldn't he just go outside without fear of university police arresting him?

maybe not arresting him but the school can still put a condition on the scholarship that they can not smoke weed and if caught the coach can reprimand him.

Smoking is legal but there are jobs that require that you be a non smoker.... IE fire fighter.

Honest question, if a player is 21 is he allowed to drink alcohol? If so, I'd see no reason to believe they would ban weed. Otherwise, you bring up a very good point too.
