I think his point was more about the students should not have special "blocks" that no one else can sit in. IMO he's basically calling out special treatment for frats & such, without directly saying so...and they are offenders of making it more about them than the football game. Sounds like he thinks the fans that want to be there, should be entitled to this seating. I really didn't get a feeling that he was calling out alumni that want to beat traffic...

Saban is losing it. My trip to Tuscaloosa left me with the feeling that it would have been what Berlin felt like in 1940. They are all about conformity. These are the first cracks in the Sabam armor. Ill bet the students would stay too of they got paid what he does. Comments like these make me think Nicky may be headed to Austin after all.

If I'm unable to get tickets to a game and I'm watching it on TV only to see a bunch of empty seats in the student section, I would be asking for some answers. Good for Saban.

You can get tickets easily to any uf game at good prices--they don't sell out anymore

If Saban wants to keep fans in the seats he needs to run a bit of UF's offense so the score always remains close.

You turned around ON the Matthews bridge? That sounds terrifying.

    Here's the problem:

"I've never been at a tailgate in my life."

Lighten up Nicky. Go spend some time with Spurrier.

It's Sabans business to control everything about Bama. What a chitty thing to come out and say. Listening to Finebum callers, these gap tooth necks generally are all in with him making this statement. Especially that classy lady caller Phyliss from Mulga

$15 a game. There were 7 home games last year, 6 this year, hence the price drop.

Wes, Saban took it up with the groups themselves, about 20 or so. The suspension of the block seating "privileges" are based on violations of University guidelines. If the groups want block seating privileges, shouldn't they have to abide by the guidelines?

    The article stated something different:

The guidelines are pretty funny, but how do you measure that? Are they monitored to see if they moved to another area of the stadium or if they went to the bathroom? House arrest ankle bracelets? Any emergency exceptions allowed?

I would be careful stirring up young people when you have no ability to compel then to go at all. The University cannot force them to enter the Stadium. Students are pretty easy to motivate toward silly counter actions

I would think Alabama is one of those programs that doesn't have a shortage of season ticket requests or have students that are turned away. But I may be wrong.

Now if Muschamp tried this, you'd see a revolt.

I always thought we lived in a free society where you could decide to stay or leave a football game...didn't realize you could be punished for leaving early. Maybe we should brand those that leave.

maybe foley / muschamp should order students to wear a gps wristband so the university can track when the arrive and leave---and apply punishments if they arrive too late or leave too early
