Bama running back Derrick Henry's new car which he posted on Instagram. Seems legit for a full time college student with no job right?

Nothing earth shattering here but guess what nothing is going to happen as the NCAA is no longer interested in doing anything about it.

Most college kids couldn't afford insurance and gas on a car like that, let alone the cost of the car.

Maybe his parents can swing it? Or he's taking out loans against future income?

Whatever the story, I'm phidelt is probably right. NCAA won't even look.

I agree unfortunately.. I had car makes & tag #s of about a dozen nolie players cars back in the late 80s.. Talked to NCAA three times and nothing ever happened.. In a St. Pete times article, the compliance office had different names on the university register and still nothing... But they put UF on double secret probation because they thought coach Hall gave Jarvis Williams some cash for child support... No proof .....

Pretty sure taking loans against future income is not allowed by the NCAA.

I think you are correct but what they can do is take out a loan to fund an insurance policy in case they get hurt, costing them a pro career.

Have you been on a campus lately? A lot of college kids have fancy cars. Look at the houses in the picture. Families living in those level of houses can take out car loans for their kids with no problem. Not every football player comes from poverty. And, even if they did, look at the fancy cars certain people drive while they are on food stamps and live in a dump.

Looks like a decent neighborhood. I know if I had a full ride scholarship for school, I would have had a much nicer street ride.

Kyle has been wanting a car down in Gainesville for almost a year now. We just pulled the string on getting one for him... and I'll tell you it's a LOT NICER than the car I got after I graduated! With 72 month 0% financing, we were able to get him a new car for a very good price (LOL!! No UF discounts up here in IN!). We have an agreement with him that once he has his first "real" job after graduation, he'll start making the payments... so we're "on the hook for hopefully the next 14-18 months. He'll still use his scooter to get around campus, but now he can go golfing, or whatever when he does have some down time.
