If you open the link you can see he pulled the race card saying Bama has a low grad rate for African Americans. I'm one that thinks grad rates are attributed more to the student than the faculty. Sure, a good teacher can inspire people to want to learn, but a good (level headed) student can pass through college regardless of the professors.

What exactly does African American graduation rates have anything to do with him? Nothing at all if he is his own person that will actually try to graduate.

A better argument would be made that ND is a superior academic institution rather than just comparing African Americans. Like I said before, if you are your own student and you want to graduate, no one else matters when it comes to grad rates.

To be fair, he is probably just repeating what the ND coaches are putting into his head.

How is mentioning it "playing the race card?"

It could well be that he thinks Bama is more of a football factory, or that ND is more conducive to study. It doesn't really matter. He isn't saying "Alabama stops African Americans from graduating!" or anything like that.

How many white guys go around saying "I would go to Florida but their Caucasian grad rate is terrible"?

No need to try to trash another school... even if it is the Bammers.

As far as AA grad rate goes... or the overall grad rate, there could be a lot of reasons for it, including the fact that all the guys who go to the NFL after three years count against it. And the guys that transfer out.

The grad rate among those that stay four or five years is most important and is indicative of whether the university values the student part of student ath-o-lete.

I still don't see what that has to do with "the race card." Simply mentioning race is not playing the race card.

What is this country coming to. You can't even flush an Alabama offer letter in the toilet without having to apologize for it anymore!

It is my experience that the people most sensitive to race are the most racist.

Now that over 35% of the state has indoor plumbing, Alabama loves to brag with toilet imagery. He probably got the idea off some university literature.

So he decided to go to another school....no big deal.....just a gesture made with the intent of humor.

If it weren't for social media it wouldn't be the story it seems to be.

    Blown out of proportion.

I'm sure all those students in question have no problem counting all the money that got to go there.
