As I have said before, I coached HS football of four decades in Florida. Entering every season, many hours in staff meetings were spent on trying to prepare for any/all possible situations. Remember going into this year, the concern was if Jeff were to go down. Now that time has arrived, and I do not keep up with all the posts as some of you do, I want to ask some questions, and if covered previously, I am sorry. As I sat in the Swamp Saturday, I hoped I never become the guy sitting behind me, who upon the entrance of Murphy screamed "we are done!" then later on the QB draw, changed his tune to "that's my man Murph!", but do have a few questions hope someone will address. 1. As a redshirt junior, he is a senior. As WM stated, he will graduate in the spring. What talent, or lack there of, has prevented him from really ever being considered a possibility? He threw the bubble screen to Patton, but that was more on Soloman than Tyler. Nice ball to Quniton, and a few escapes and runs. When he was a true sophomore and Brantley was hurt, we went with a TE and an all purpose player rather than Tyler. There must have been something missing. 2. I admire the kid, really do. Hung in there like 23 when so many are "me first". He did one hell of a job yesterday, and maybe with increased snaps he will only improve. But who becomes #2? I remember once being in a similar situation explaining to the staff that if the final QB when down, "drop the tailgate, get the dogs in the truck, pour the coffee on the fire, this %^%$# hunt is over". 3. Is he as tall as reported? Is he really 6'3? Obviously has the wheels, what about the arm? Thanks to anyone that can help me sleep better.
