And this is BEFORE HUSSEIN care is in affect. Here's some trivia for you liberals. Name me ONE social program that is on budget has no fraud and is not going bankrupt?

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2013/10/13/hospital-job-cuts/2947929/

Hospitals, a reliable source of employment growth in the recession and its aftermath, are starting to cut thousands of jobs amid falling insurance payments and in-patient visits.

The payroll cuts are surprising because the Affordable Care Act (ACA), whose implementation took a big step forward this month, is eventually expected to provide health coverage to as many as 30 million additional Americans.

"While the rest of the U.S. economy is stabilizing or improving, health care is entering into a recession," says John Howser, assistant vice chancellor of Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Health care providers announced more layoffs than any other industry last month — 8,128 — mostly because of reductions by hospitals, according to outplacement firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas. So far this year, the health care sector has announced 41,085 layoffs, the third-most behind financial and industrial companies.

The article included some of the reasons why hospitals are hurting and it's not the direct result of the ACA but rather the impact of decisions supported by the conservative wing of the Republican Pary. From the original linked article:
And by the way the article doesn't even mention the cuts and/or delays in funding resulting from the current shutdown, which have further reduced funding for healthcare.

sounds like Dad didn't actually read the story again. Just saw job losses and thought he could blame it all on Obama and ACA

That's a standard line of the right and although it's technically accurate, Obama only proposed sequestration because that alternative appeared to be the only way that the Democrats and Obama could stop the Tea Party Republicans from driving the US economy off the economic cliff by not raising the debt ceiling. This time around it appears that Obama is not going to be coerced into agreeing to a bad deal. Extortion may have worked once, apparently it's not going to work again.

Not disputing the accuracy of the statement, but it should be examined in context. Even though technically proposed by Obama the sequestration was still a form of extortion.

Expect decreased staffing and care at your hospital

My hospital is letting 500 people go....and this is tip of iceberg. Think about it---more people will be accessing health care while we are shedding thousands of jobs....what does that equal in your near future.....but ACA was going to reduce costs and improve care and you could keep your insurance...blah blah blah.

when did compromise become extortion? when the dems got in control?

has every law ever crafted under pressure that included compromise been extortion or just the ones done that 0 and reid opposed?

This is what I have saying all along - the only jobs that are going to be created are in the IRS as police for the ACA. Millions more are supposed to have access to healthcare but where are all the new healthcare professionals coming from?

Can we say We told you so. Elections and bad laws have consequences. Health Care is going to get worse-not better. What a disaster this regime has been.
