Why not grow into the next gen of energy systems, without waiting on what China does by polluting itself with old tech.

.....and the North Koreans agreed to stop their nuclear weapons program and the Pakistanis agreed to wipe out Al Qaeda within their borders and Robert Mugabe agreed to hold fair elections in Zimbabwe. Things are looking up all around.

Their scheme to hold 3rd world countries down by forcing their countries to purchase the "green" technologies that they create instead of producing their own from traditional means is pathetic and immoral.

If they really cared about people they would stop suppressing the work of Nikola Tesla and other real alternative energy methods like cold fusion and free energy, which would instantly destroy big energy and big oil and all of their expensive useless "green" energy.

I'm not sure that I'm familiar with they (whoever "they" are) doing either of these things. It seems like the usual critique from the right is the opposite of the first complaint, claiming that most solutions only hurt the rich countries. And I am unfamiliar with anyone holding down cold fusion. It seems that its main issue is that it is probably impossible.

Is the Hoover Dam useless, it is in fact, green energy. How about Iceland's use of underground thermal sources. For some reason we have people who want us to burn coal to make steam, as that thermal steam is different.

In three hours, enough sunlight hits the earth to power it for an entire year, yet some can't figure out a way to use any of if. Solar costs have dropped like a rock, watt cost is getting near the purchased watt cost from an electric company.

Why not use wind, when it works without any fuel or water cost. Plus GE makes the big generators for the towers, right here in Florida. What do you have against capitalism.

So yeah, Tesla was great and all, but the only true way to be energy free is to make your own and in this venue, green is the best path to freedom.

Central power plant thinking, is not where the answers lie.

Green energy is completely dependent on the weather. If it stops raining the Hover Dam is pretty much useless just like wind and solar are if we get calm and cloudy days respectively.

Would you put the Stock Market or Police Stations and Hospitals on that power with no known fossil fuel back-up? Hell no.

We should all demand proven power/energy technologies that work night and day, rain or shine.
