This has been an FSU trademark in recruiting for years going back to Bobby and we constantly get burned by it...they have top notch recruits act like they are coming to UF only to flip near or on signing day. FSU understands the value is two-fold because they know UF will stop recruiting elite talent for that position and it will be too late to replace the recruit we lost and it is also demoralizing to the fan base and great PR for FSU. If Cook comes out and commits to FSU right away you lose the opportunity to damage your rival in the other ways. Meyer is truly a top recruiter and had a stranglehold on FSU where guys like Harvin announced for UF and ripping the hearts out of FSU fans on signing day. I guess you can give Muschamp kudos for the Fowler pull but can't think of too many others against FSU.

A problem I see with the 2014 class is there is zero LB , Zero RB, one DL, one QB and at least the one QB is a good
one. But that leaves UF with only 3 QB with one having a weak arm and one a true Freshman and the most experienced still in rehab from a broke leg. The 2014 class was looking good and shaping up to be a top class
but it lost its RB, and possibly the best WR and a good DB. Coach Muschamp and Co. Has their work cut out for
them to fill this class with good players in the positions of need. One positive sign is the class has more OL than in
years past but needs to add a few more. Best of luck Coach .

Well, Happy New Year!!! Maybe there will be good news from the soccer, lacrosse, tennis and gymnastics fronts. Our AD is constantly viewed as a genius becauser of his ability to guide those sports and he got a pass from most people here regarding Muschamp because of his "mastery" in those areas.

Because programs never take a break? Do you know what the word "cyclical" means? More importantly, it's ONE recruit. I feel your pain, man. But if you think about it, Grier and especially Roper will be the key to our success. We need Grier to be the real deal. Also, we need Roper to coach Driskel up. If he can do that, muschamp may win a decent amount of games. Next year is going to be tough, though. That schedule is terrible! AS ALWAYS...

How is it one recruit? The 2011 and 2012 classes are wrecked, the 2013 one seems ok but the 2014 is shaping up to be average and we are getting mocked by future recruits

I understand he's had some misses, but he's landed his fair share. Roper is the key to our future. And Driskel.

So we are going to get at best three of the top 20 players in our state this class but people still want to defend Muschamp? Wow. I thought he was a great recruiter? ? ? ! Face it guys, even 18 year old kids see the writing on the wall for this program.

UF currently has 5 QBs including Will Grier. Only two LBs are leaving one being a walkon and the other being a career backup. Also LB is the deepest position on D for UF. There are 5 returning RB with game experience ( Taylor and Brown both rated higher than Cook out of highschool) and Adam Lane sitting in thewings. There is currently 14 WR that will be on the roster next year, with most having more stars than anyone on Duke.

CWM has recruited strong and if he finishes strong this year it will be 3 straight top 10 classes. You may not like his coaching ( IMHO he is a great DC just needs a good OC and this team will win a lot of games) but he is a good recruiter.

Winning is what changes that perception. Florida's recruiting has taken a step back this season, particularly with top instate prospects. Hopefully we can keep the majority of this class intact and add a couple Lauderdale/Prince/Holley-type of prospects to help us out. I'll be happy if we finish with a top 10-15 class at this point, considering our lack of success this season.

What Roper and Cutcliffe have done at Duke is amazing. We do appear to be getting a guy who has the ability of turning our lack of success offensively completely around. More importantly, if healthy, the talent does appear to be in place to have a functional offense next season. But it certainly appears that Florida needs to step it up.

An early signing period would take care of a lot of this..the staff would have a much better idea if a recruit is serious or possibly playing them.

Cook lacks character so imho he should be a nole because the shoe fits. He can be replaced and we already have Taylor .

Everyone knew he was playing a dirty game by getting the three schools to accept him not knowing which way he'd go.

It's why you always have a back up plan and you never tell any recruit that he is the only one we are recruiting.

These position numbers are there now, but from what is done by other top coaches every year is add RB, LB, DL, OL, QB in every class . It seams to help from having voids in the classes when every year there are transfers, injuries, And those leaving early to the NFL. Coach Muschamp has recruited well but the only issue that I see are the positions He sometimes leaves out in any given year. I am optimistic he will fill 2014 with a balanced class.

Pretty sad that a bunch of 17-year-olds can clearly see the problems at UF that our AD refuses to recognize. These kids are actually CAMPAIGNING for UF to keep its current staff so that we're easier to beat when after stringing us along they decide to go to a key rival. How humiliating! Rodney Dangerfield got more respect.

He's not from Florida, but Featherstone just committed to FSU. Another swing and miss.
