What I mean is that Florida should be able to grind out a win eventually. But will struggle out of the gate just like last year. Injuries have prevented the offense from practicing enough to be firing on all cylinders. Also Florida may find themselves playing from behind early. I wouldn't be surprised.

Another sensible Florida fan who doesn't just say that they'll blowout every team they play.

Do I think Florida should win? Yes. Do I think Florida will win? Yes. But do I think UT will make it a competitive game? Yes. And if it is a close game in the 4th quarter, then anything can happen.

And it looks like you guys have an internet tough guy on your hands when it comes to gatorsfan350. He sent me a nice little PM this morning at 6:55 AM that said,

So I try to respond to him a PM, and what does he do? He blocks/ignores/whatever so that I can't send him a PM. Real tough guy there. Thing is, I was going to be done with this message board, but not now.

The days of UF blowing anybody out are over. I will take a 3-10 point win every week, just as Bama does it. We won't blow anybody out, but there is a very good chance that we will pound you into submission.

We are going to be able to run the football. I have zero questions about Matt Jones and Jeff Driskel running the football.

My concerns are about Florida converting 3rd downs and finishing drives. Caleb Sturgis isn't here for an auto 3 when uf stalls in the rz. They should be able to run though. It could be baaaad if they can't for some reason.

UF should be able to run the ball. Consistency and finishing drives are the true concerns.

Expecting UF to Air It Out

Gators have invested alot in improving their passing game. UF has a strong running game that is availible at anytime. So I'm expecting Driskel to put FB in the air for at least 30 attempts. I do understand why they call it the Swamp, but if it's a rain game or you get a big storm system a few days before the game it can drastically reduce the effect of the heat/humidity. # of Florida guys on the Rocket roster:

    WR Bernard Reedy
    RB/WR Cassius McDowell
    WR James Green
    OL Ben Steele
    DE Allen Covington
    LB Vladimir Emilien
    OLB Junior Sylvestre
    Florida transfer-Jordan Haden
Wish we had him availible for this season for some added experience/depth, not availible until next year Alabama transfer- QB Phillip Ely.

Toledo should be a fun opener for the Gators.

For the record, the vast majority of the gator fans on this site don't think we will blow out everyone that we play. I certainly don't. I do think we will blowout Toledo (win by no fewer than 20 points). It is not irrational insensible to think that we will blowout Toledo.

    Sigh, UT ...

You do realize that there can be more than 1 UT, don't you? Just like there is more than 1 UM. More than 1 UF. More than 1 OSU...

    Yes, sigh ...
it's just that the overwhelming majority of the college football world uses UT to refer to Texas or Tennessee. People here, when they read UT, presume one is talking about the Vols.

Absolutely. SEC football on the road, back to back weekends will be a good experience for the Rockets if we can keep injuries to a minimum.

And now we see your true colors. What does the 2008 team have to do with the 2013 one? That was a different era, we have a new coach and a new team. But if you want to look at those arrests- many of them were small, petty crimes. The ones that weren't, were dealt with accordingly.

I think it will be a tight game for a half. After that, I expect us to put the clamps down. Good luck, and safe travels.

    Welcome to the swamp....
