Ok, this is for all you google junkies who love statistics. Last Saturday we had UT in a 4th and 33 situation. My challenge/question is as follows: What is the most yards any team has had to travel in order to get a first down or touchdown? Bonus points are offered to those who break down (a) all teams in any game (b) Gator teams in their games, and (c) Gator opponents.

Back in 2000 when we played at Miss State, center David Jorgensen had 2 consecutive high snaps sail over Grossman's head. I think we were facing 3rd and almost 50.

I think our game vs Miami Ohio three years ago when Pouncey snaps over Brantley's head.

Very first thing that came to my mind. I think miss state even made tshirts after this game that said "3rd and 59" or something like that. I think after that spurrier had a math problem and took a 2 point safety.

I was at that game at Moo U and what I remember most, (other than them tearing down the goalposts) was Spurrier's brain fart on the next play, screwing up his math and taking an intentional safety making it a two score game.

My impression was he was throwing in the towel. I think he was afraid either a pass would be intercepted or the punt on the next play might be blocked. They were kicking our butts pretty good. I think we also punted on third down once. What an awful game.

Sometimes it's best to punt on 3rd and that long.

no actually it was Jorgensen. Zedalis was injured that year, getting a 6th year of eligibility for 2001.
