    Thanks for the link.

#6 is just sad. Richest country on Earth and we can't give women paid time off when they have a baby. Labor still does not have enough control in this country.

#16 is the reason why we became a super power.

I noticed the State of Florida's highest paid public employee was a basketball coach.
Is that our own Billy Donovan here at UF?

By the way.....scUM is a private school, right?

Companies are free to do so if they want, and women are free to find the jobs that afford them this perk.

But you want the nanny-state to intervene, don't you?

I tried to find that out, but because of how they determined the salaries it isn't cut and dry. Here's where the map originally came from.

Florida's highest paid public employee is Billy Donovan, the head coach of the UF basketball team, which has made 11 NCAA tournament appearances in his 17 years -- including three appearances in the Final Four and two national titles.

Donovan makes $3.6 million a year.

Haha, Conservatives. Always going on and on about family, but when it comes down to it, they're all corporatists. They want the 50's "ideal" family, but no one can afford to do that anymore, so women have to work, and then they don't give them time off to raise their kids and complain about the broken families and lost "values."

We're the only developed country on Earth that doesn't give women maternity leave. The only thing that matters in the US is the almighty Dollar and it's going to be the end of us all.

Whoever made the map is probably under the mistaken belief that Donovan is paid using tax dollars.

Add in the debt and unfunded liabilities and I bet US doesn't crack top 50 in per capita wealth.

Then it seems odd that he would claim that the highest paid public employee is a basketball coach when he really isn't. Is the following claim he makes correct? Is the state liable to pay Donovan if the athletic department's revenue falls short? Has that ever happened?

"While this compensation does not come directly from the state fund it is guaranteed in the coaches' contracts; if revenue falls short, the school—and thus the state—is on the hook to cover the difference."

I also liked map#40 "reversed map with southern hemisphere on top". At some point, someone decided to create a map with North at the top and now many people believe that North is actually "up" and South is "down".

    # 6 is misleading. I think most of the larger private employers(100 +) pay maternity benefits
