How macho of them
That their presence with firearms that are not being brandished, not targeted or some other menacing, is thought of as per se "bullying", is part of the problem. Hell, those ladies have probably never been safer in any public dining establishment in their lives in the factum. But they aren't uniformed police and they have guns, they are a threat?
Guns are bad, real bad. Every liberal knows that. No wonder they were afraid.
First of all, the photo above is a bit misleading. It looks like the guys are lined up against the women inside. I've seen another photo take from the front of the group that shows they were posing for a photo.
But Michi's post is complete BS. Some women meet in a restaurant to discuss ways to reduce gun violence and these yahoos show up in parking lot with their guns? Woo, big guys with guns trying to intimidate a few moms. Idiots and weenies.
An open carry group isn't bullying per se but they are when they show up at a meeting that opposes how they think.
What would you call a bunch of drunk drivers who showed up at a MADD meeting?
So, is this just a handful of people acting badly, or is it an indictment of the entire gun rights movement? Good day for the residents of Mt. Pious to have a gotcha moment.
it's a group of people acting badly.
A really crappy analogy, is the first thing I would call it, as drunk driving IS per se criminal. Owning, possessing, and carrying a firearm is not.
They might have thought, perhaps, that being law abiding citizens yet possessing guns simultaneously might be a teachable moment for the other group. *shrug*
It is illegal in every state for those carrying guns openly to brandish them in order to intimidate. Seeing that they showed up at a rally of another group, that can be interpreted as intimidation.
Gun brandishing or not is irrelevant. Their presence was all about bullying.
So they should be prosecuted for... intent? Looking mean, and looking bad?
Idiocy isn't a crime but I never called for them to be prosecuted.
...or a bunch of guys who show up demonstrating responsible and legal use and control of firearms by law abiding citizens that the women have nothing to fear from.
I don't see how you can draw such a conclusion without either there being no other possible rational explanation for their presence or you being a mindreader.
Why else go there? It's private property and they knew the other group was there.
Not speaking to this specific incident, but intent (mens rea) is a key element which makes behavior criminal vs not criminal.
And yet when service unions in Las Vegas and teachers unions in Madison Wis actually confront and intimidate tourists and lawmakers, you liberals shout and defend this as their god-given right to assemble and protest to say nothing of the Wall Street protesters.
or when they stand outside a polling place with their night sticks brandied about
