Unfortunately, that's not the Committee's projected seeding. It's just ESPN's stab at it, which is worthless.

I would bet that we are going to be 5 seed, simply based on the fact that it is my worst Gator BB nightmare.

Wouldn’t want to be in that bracket that ESPN projected with Villanova and Duke.

Don’t look now but Baylor is looking better and better as a win. Beat Kansas and now Texas in Austin. Their Rpi up to 53.

We did OK as a 5 seed in 2000.

That is true, but highly selective. Tell me how 2002 and 2004 worked out?

You have been around long enough to get the gist of not wanting a 5 seed.

Is there a lower seed that you prefer over a 5 seed?

Many years I'd probably rather have a 6 or 7 and avoid playing the 1 seed that quickly. Really just depends on the specific draw. Tough call though. This year I definitely wouldn't worry about the top seeds as much.

This year? Often, I was just hoping to make the tourney! Just hoping to avoid the bad luck of a 5.

I am always in the camp that says, you get a 1 or 2 seed, you can expect to get to the next weekend. After that you have to play basketball against increasingly better competition after the pretenders drop out.

We can argue that being a 3 or 4 seed allows your first weekend to be played close to home and that helps with having favorable fans....in theory. But after that it is all about playing quality teams and you can't take ANY games off, unless the other teams take the games off also. Play well and good things happen. Play poorly and start making excuses.

I just don't like the idea that "we got jobbed and we only won one game where they got it good and lasted to the Sweet 16." Isn't it all about winning the NC? I get being a FF participant and all the good feelings but still, if your team isn't that good down the stretch they are not going to get there. The cream rises to the top and they are going to lose.

I Hope several posters on this board read your spot on post… Last 10 games are huge and thank you for talking about good and bad losses. Some on here probably still think the big 12 and Oklahoma are a great conference…

Happy to see this, but I think it says more about the conference being a average conference. Oklahoma should not even be a top seven or eight seed and because of the overrated conference or overhype they are still a four or five.
