Posted this in another thread, where there was some discussion about first down play calling and how well UF passed on first down.

Here is how the passing went on third down last week:

    Jeff Driskel on third down

    3rd and 10 Miami 39 - 11 yard pass to Trey Burton 1st down
    3rd and 9 from UF 30 - incomplete pass
    3rd and 10 from Miami 10 - Interception
3rd and 7 from UF 31 - 17 yard pass to Trey Burton 1st down
3rd and 8 from Miami 18 - 3 yard pass to Quinton Dunbar - FG on next play
    3rd and 4 from UF 46 - Incomplete pass
    3rd and 3 from UF 37 - Incomplete pass
    3rd and 3 from Miami 17 - Interception
3rd and 7 from UF 17 - Sack, fumble, lost possession
3rd and 2 from UF 47 - 32 yard pass to Quinton Dunbar 1st down

    So to add that up:

    4-10, 63 yards, 2 INT, 1 fumble, 3 first downs

Of the 10 third downs, 4 were "manageable" and of those 4, in the critical moments of the 2nd half, Driskel was 1-4, with an INT.

    Situational drills needed. Clearly.

    Cheers.

Pretty good analysis. Sounds like he's not very clutch.
