I think the writing is on the wall for Butler.

Sydney Moss, Vicky McIntyre, and Chandler Cooper gone.

Yep. A big disconnect between the HC and the players she recruits.

I hope Coach Butler succeeds at UF. I remember her playing for UF under Coach Ross, and I was pleasantly surprised to see her coaching at UNCC when I was up in Charlotte visiting family. If this does happen, it could be tough to overcome. Coach Ross was the high point in UF women's basketball, it's too bad she had to leave...

What happened with Moss? She was clearly the most talented player on last year's team.

Speculation is like with the last few transfers..clashes with the HC and her style of coaching.

I have felt for a while that next season is make or break, I think this solidifies that sentiment. Not ready to pile on just yet, there may be good reasons for these players going their seperate ways. But the number of transfers in the Butler era is pretty high. This cannot be used as an excuse if the team struggles next year.

McIntyre leaving was certainly expected, but losing Cooper and Moss is a huge blow. Losing the talent (Butler's top 2 ranked matriculated recruits) hurts, but I think it's just a huge red flag to have multiple kids announce transfers in the middle of the summer?

If this is the end of the exodus, the team still has enough talent to have a good season in 2013-14 if everyone stays healthy (down to 10 players, I think). But with this type of negativity out there surrounding the program, it's also going to make it that much harder on the recruiting trail.

I'm really at a bit of a loss as to where we go from here...

That was the talk from the previous transfers. They just didn't enjoy her coaching style particularly in practice.

As for the latest 3 that are leaving, all that is being said is severe internal issues.

If it is her being too hard on them...

It just feeds into our entitlement society.

They are no different than male b-ball players, football players, all athletes actually... undergraduate students, and grad students. If someone is hard on them it is a wooo is me mentality. The vast majority of collegiate students and hell the population cannot deal with adversity.

perhaps....but if so then she needs to recruit players that can take her style of coaching. been a lot of transfers for us to only blame the kids

man, that's a huge blow to lose moss. was looking forward to watching her start to dominate the court w/ full confidence.

this season needed to be a stellar one - one that showed great improvement. i think you needed a moss on the team to do that. we'll see how the season unfolds.
