I see on our official commitment list, Lang is listed as a DE. I know he has great hands but I think he'd be a great OLB in the 3-4, especially given our lack of depth.

You might be right. I guess we'll have to pay attention to our TE board for 2019.

Think your correct. Lang has OLB in TG 3-4 Defense written all over him. May play both ways, as a passing down OLB and also TE. Wouldn't even be surprised to see some FB options with him. Great versatile player. May closer to a 4* than a 3*. Just glad we got him.

You're correct. Dante is a very versatile athlete and imo he's underrated. You may be right that he has defense written all over him but he spent his senior year focused on becoming the best TE he can be.

The 4 star cutoff is 0.8902 on 247 and Dante comes in at .8709. More importantly he's a Top 100 (88 on rivals) Florida recruit. He was recruited by Georgia, lsu, Louisville, Va Tech and several others.

Jujaun was his recruiter. This kid will be a stud.

What is TGs OLB supposed to look like? What about his DEs? If lang is already 6-5 225 could he grow quickly into a DE rather than a OLB?

DEs in the 3-4 need to be very big, more like three-technique tackles. If the Gators do transition to a 3-4 in just one year, most of our DEs next year are players currently listed at DT. A lot of our DEs will become LBs.

Does that mean the outside LB's will be bigger than the inside now?

I agree. Lang, at 220 now and 6'5 seems like could be 280 no problem in a couple years and play DE. But I guess he could also hold lean at 250 and be an OLB or TE depending on his skillset.
