If true, nice evaluating/developing because he was a relatively unheralded player out of HS.
We are close but still have to add a couple really good top 20 DBs.
Come on down kwantel raines and tyson campbell. Long rangy safety and a lockdown corner.
Great news but NS is the only front seven player in that list.
I thought he did fine with DT. Other than Fred Taylor I thought we had trouble getting elite tailbacks oddly enough
Don't forget Rhett and Jackson
And Elijah Williams
Don't forget Mike Gillislee who we only used for 1 year.
I think he was just a liitttllleee bit after SOS
I'm back and forth btw living in the Congo or coma as to why you didn't get to watch any Gator Football last season.
Rhett was already there i thought and Terry jackson wasn't an elite tailback unless im mistaken. In fact i thought he converted from linebacker and elijah williams ended up at corner at some point
Rhett only played for spurrier, not sure if he was already recruited when did came aboard but he broke emmitts tecords
I understand that but I replied to a comment made about certain coaches having trouble recruiting at certain positions. Spurrier had a false reputation for being a pass happy only coach and therefore we were a tough sell for RB recruits. In actuality Spurrier teams were almost always very close to 50/50 run vs pass. Im sure some of that evened out in garbage time as we ran out the clock at times with huge leads but he did run a relatively balanced offense its just that he passed to open up the run which was the opposite of the offenses at the time of his arrival.
Rhett was a Galen Hall recruit. He was not highly regarded coming out of high school. He did break Emmitt's career record but didn't have huge single season numbers. Just couldn't break those long runs.
Correct. Jackson was a high school safety and was projected to play OLB at UF. He was a legacy but not highly regarded at all. Williams was a good high school RB but very small. He was not what you would call elite. Nobody was surprised when he moved to corner. That was the only way he was getting to the NFL
The two I want.
May have been the toughest gstor of all.
Evaluating, kid got himself in great shape, Taylor is a competitive kid, he is going places. @itraz should pay attention..
Credit to Coach Summers who told Taylor he was out of shape and needed to change his body if he wanted to play high level college ball.
Pierce is the most exciting RB to commit to the Gators in the youtube era. I love his clips. He has the perfect blend of power and speed for the SEC. He's already about the same size as our current starter. I don't think we want terribly heavy RBs. I just saw that Perine has lost weight and now weighs less than he did in high school.
