The below has been updated to reflect the two new players committing in Fall 2017.

This should be useful when thinking about our team now and in future years. This is in order of class, not by who may or will start. Italics are players that are committed for future seasons. I've combind SG and SF into a single spot called "Wing" because the players covering both spots are fairly interchangeable for 2017-18.

    PG: Chiozza (2018), Okauru (2021), Nembhard (2022)
    Wing: Koulechov (2018), K. Allen (2019), Hudson (2019), Ballard (2021), Locke (2022)
    PF: Stone (2020), Bassett (2021)#, Johnson (2021)
    C: Egbunu (2018)#, Hayes (2019), Gak (2020), Stokes (2021)#

    # - has injury that may impact 2018.

A few corrections: Hudson played 2 years for Wake, so it should be 2019 for him.I would consider Hayes a center and Johnson a SF. Rimmer is gone after this season, I believe. Hudson likely plays primarily at small forward. He starts there if Robinson leaves early. My guess as to next year's starting lineup is Cheese, Allen, Hudson, Stone and Hayes. That assumes that Egs and Robinson leave early.

That's a good starting lineup, though I think Eggs will stay another year (unless he really turns it on he's not going anywhere).

I hope Hudson is as good as we've been hearing

I believe he played at Va Tech.

Correct. Sorry. I had in my head the game the game Hudson had against Wake as a freshman when he came off the bench in the ACC tournament and scored 32 points to lead Va Tech to the win.

If Egs stays, then there is a chance that Hayes could move to power forward.

Good catch on Hudson - for some reason I had him as a new freshman, which is obviously not the case. He is listed as a guard on the roster, so I will leave him there, although SG and SF are somewhat interchangeable. I agree Hayes should move to C for now.

The first post has been updated.

Out of curiosity....how did we pick up a Va. Tech pipeline. I just imagine it's like NCAA 2012 recruiting on PlayStation and it just costs us fewer points to recruit that school.

Hudson is going to have to buy in to being a solid defender. If he does, the starting lineup should be Chiozza, Allen, Hudson, Stone and Hayes. My guess is that Stokes redshirts. Even a healthy Stokes would need to lose 30 pounds to be a factor on defense and the boards. If Cheese can stay out of foul trouble, I would expect both he and Allen to be All-SEC players. Johnson will play the 3 and the 4. Ballard and Hudson will play the 2 and the 3. Bassett, if healthy, should be able to play the 4 and the 5. Okauru could get some playing time, although I still expect Allen to get some time at the point. Gak hopefully will be much improved. If Egbunu comes back healthy for the SEC schedule and post-season, no reason that we can't be a Final 4 team.

Plus, we might add a solid graduate transfer.

Nice to see the official roster.

White seems to do a really good job of keeping the roster balanced in terms of classes. Seems like every year we are set to lose about three players.

Agree, but worth noting that 3 of our 5 wing players (SG, SF) are gone in the next 2 years. That needs to be a priority for us in the next cycle.
