    Has committed to the gators!

    http://247sports.com/Player/Tyler-Byrd-24279

    Our first 2016 commit (Before any 2015 commits).

    http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2013/jun/20/prep-football-naples-tyler-byrd-verbally-commits-f/

    Projected as an ATH who can play WR/CB. Is also a track star. Long ways to go before 2016 though.

    edit: http://floridastate.247sports.com/Board/36/HS-Freshman-Tyler-Byrd--12848726/1 some information on him, seems to be a stud, some good quotes in that thread about him dragging JC Jackson/being the first freshman to start for Naples since their new coach has been there etc.

    Wish we would be worrying a little more about 2014 right now, but the kid looks good for sure.. Good pickup

    Amazing Percy Havin like strength , he drags the DB for 10 yards on the first play. 2016 is a long way but this kid is the real deal, game changer!

    Not gonna lie, I read "first offer" on the front page and was about to come here and see why we are being the first to offer a 2014 kid... Really happy to know its a '16 guy. He looks really good too.

    @1986

    It's going to sound contradictory but its a bit early for 2014. By that I mean, not a whole bunch of them (the really good ones) commit right now. I can guarantee Muschamp and company are paying full attention to 14 while also working on future classes, which they should be doing.

    Not last year, I dig some searching and Byrd only caught one pass against Immokalee and it wasn't for a touchdown. On a side note, that one pass did go for 72 yards.. Looks like Byrd is a big play kinda guy, we REALLY need that.

    I am pretty stunned at how good he is. With added weight he would be a top 25 CB in the 2014 class.

    cornerback size v 3 Amigo speed

    Byrd and Tre Jackson are nice additions to GatorNaton, welcome young men, and a legacy to boot. While they do not fit the cornerback size v todays receivers, there are specialty plays and special teams opportunity for both. These little cats are going to contribute.

    They are 15 years old right now. Tre is already as tall as his dad was at UF. Not a bit worried about height or weight. FYI, Joakim Noah was a 6'4" point guard his sophomore year in high school.
