Then hopefully with Joker's help he will become a receiver. I don't know if he's the next Randy Moss or the next Joey Browner.

He's most definitely not a Randy Moss. He could be a player like Andre Johnson which is nothing to sneer at.

You're right about that being nothing to sneer at - Johnson's an all pro. He's also a big strong dude who knows how to use that body. Campbell's got a lot of growing to do to get in his range.

Probably right - I have no idea what Johnson weighed coming out of high school... but there's a big difference between 230 and 185. Hard to tell if an athlete can carry that kind of weight increase and still run well.

Miami listed him as 6'3" 200 lbs as a freshman. Campbell has a year and a half to put on weight but you're right that people add and carry weight differently.

The kid is all Gator if we show something on offense. And he looked much better at WR at our recent JR Day. HIs problem is not whether he can make plays there. The kid can make Randy Moss type plays (seriiously). He's an incredible ATH. It's just making simple plays that is the problem.

I pretty much agree, but would point out that WRs were already staying away from here based on what Meyer did with WRs... and he left the proverbial "cupboard bare" for Muschamp. That along with OL and QB issues basically ensured we'd have a crappy pass game. Vicious circle.

Muschamp appears to have done far better the past two years recruiting WRs than what he was left with. Roper and Joker have tools to work with. If they're as good as billed, our WRs should do something this year.

Exactly what I was gonna say. Aside from harvin, who was more of a hybrid wr, we haven't had really any stud WR, even with meyer. We have had guys who ended up be much better than advertised like Murphy and cooper, as well as guys not as good as advertised like Dubose. It's the nature of the beast with certain offenses.

He can catch, but he doesn't have the hands like Phillips or Burt. But he can learn. They will never learn to run as fast as him.

Exactly! You don't teach 6'3+ with legit 4.3 speed.

They should make him catch with hand paddles, like we used for baseball and quick/soft hands. ;)

Burt's the tallest, half an inch on Campbell, but he's skinny. Phillips has the best hands, but Campbell is the only one among the three who breaks 4.5, which is nothing to sneeze at, but consistently running sub 4.4 and leaping 3.8 is impressive. He's also better going up in the air after the ball and better in the open field. The more these receivers get evaluated, the more the other two drop and Campbell stays right where he is. Now UF appears to be on to some other WRs higher rated than either Burt or Phillips.

Campbell won the "fastest man" award at last year's sparq combine and he was the only junior there among all seniors. Crazy fast especially for his size.
