WOW, just watched John Burt's soph highlights. That kid is an amazing football player. He makes plays ALL OVER the field! Who leads for this guy? I would think that the SOW has the in road to Tallahassee Lincoln. Does anyone know if we have a shot?

First off, I don't think his commitment holds, but even if it does, I can't fault him for leaving his family. I think when you're 18, that's one of the best decisions you can make. Especially for more mature kids. My daughter came back from her freshman year on the east coast acting like she was three years older. A lot of kids stay close to home because they just aren't mature enough to separate.

Secondly, Michigan is not a pit. It may be a "declining state" but it's a beautiful one. We visit friends in Grand Rapids and spend a lot of time along the eastern Lake Michigan shore. The Upper Peninsula is gorgeous. Love skiing up in Traverse City.

Florida is the best state you've ever lived in? You probably don't have kids or a job outside of Florida's narrow economic base.

^^^^ Florida weather or Michigan weather? Tough one.... I'll take Florida 9/10 times.

You're right. He did go to the hospital for chest pain. Turned out to be a combo of anxiety, stress, hiatal hernia, and heart burn. It is actually very easy for anyone to get any one of those symptoms confused with a heart attack. Especially after all the self imposed stress from feeling he couldn't compete with Saban

I thought the final diagnosis was esophageal spasms .

I thought it was spasms of the sphincter myself.

As for me, I have lots of kids and don't work in the tourism/service industry. I've also turned down multiple job offers in several other states in order to come back to and stay in Florida. To each his own.

FL is home to 16 Fortune 500 companies, while MI has 20. Not a huge difference, I'd say.

FL also came in at #7 in a Forbes ranking of top states for jobs:

Michigan is tops in manufacturing jobs, but Florida has it beat in healthcare and tourism. I think it's a pretty close call overall, but the warmer climate + lack of state income taxes puts FL ahead in the big picture.

LoL how did we get here? Is Campbell planning on starting a small business on the side while he plays football?

Campbell's Mama may have issues with going to college that far from home. We will see over the next 17 months.

I don't work in Michigan and wouldn't if I were offered. I live and work in Illinois, home to 32 Fortune 500 companies which hire heavily from the University of Michigan.

I made a go of it in Florida after seven years in the midwest. The lifestyle was great, but I lost a lot of career momentum and had to bail after just three years. Glad to be where I am. Glad my kids got the education they got here and the experience of growing up in a great city. Weather has never been an issue for me. I like having seasons.

Urban had an acute case of Sabanitis. Sadly for Gator nation he had his azz kicked once too often by the current jackazz in Tuscaloosa. Muschamp will remedy that shortly!!
