IMO, yes. Especially if he can get his catching ability up. But Phillips is right behind him.
Cambell has better speed, Phillips has better hands. You can have all the speed in the world but if u can't catch it doesn't mean squat. Ill take a reliable receiver any day of the week IMO campbell is a stud don't get me wrong but if I had to pick that would be it go gators!
For those claiming Campbell can work on his ball skills, you're right. However, many times players with poor hands and timing never develop it and if they do it is never at a level like you see in Phillips. That being said, I want Campbell to be a Gator.
That's assuming Urban doesn't fake another heart attack first.
I dont he has ever faked one so if he did this time it would be the first
Phillips 'may' be the best WR in dade next year, but its a real stretch to say he's #2 in the country. Lane is better than him by a good margin also. Campbell on the other hand is legitimately the #1 guy in the country with his size/speed combo.
See deonte Thompson, great speed, great athlete, can't catch. Never could figure out how to catch either. For some guys it's just natural
I don't see him coming here. Sorry fellas.
Yea he ain't coming to Florida. If we can do Demarcus Robinson, Ermon Lane, and Devante Phillip all three in a row then we will be set.
Did you see the CEO of Twitter is a Mich. grad and was tweeting about his commitment?
Is Campbell comparable to Randy Moss by speed and size...just lacking Randy's hands?
Waaaay to early for that type of comparison. He's gonna be good but I don't know about that good.
Deon Cain and John Burt are very high on us! I want kids that want to be gators! Cain wants a UF offer badly!
Yes yes yes!! I agree 100%!
Who are they? What positions do they play?
Burt is a WR and is a Beast! Very fast for his size and I would definitely take
Campbell is the guy you show off on signing day, but you don't know until you get him on the practice field what he can do. He hasn't shown the elite pass catching ability that Phillips and especially Lane have and that's what the Gators need now. Lane was just plain sick in The Opening. He caught everything that comes near him, no matter how well he was covered. He's supposedly a 4.5+ guy, but he separated easily from the studs defending him. He may not have Campbell's track speed, but it doesn't matter how fast you are in the open field if you don't have the ball in your hands.
I was kind of shocked by Campbell's commitment since it seemed like he grew up a gator fan, especially since he had the gator birthday cake and everything. But if he's not going to UF, then I'm glad he's headed to Michigan, that way we won't have to play him. Kid seems like a real talent. I think his hands are great too looking at the film. Can't see many weaknesses. This reminds me of the Derrick Henry situation. They all won't be gators.
What amazes me is how these kids can leave their families like that. I took off for college too and transferred closer to home after one year. I transferred to UF and it was a great decision. Though I don't live there now, Florida is still the best state I ever lived in. Michigan is a pit and a declining state. UM is a nice campus, but the state isn't what it once was. The Big 10 isn't what it once was either. That distance is cool for a little while, but when you want to go home for the weekend, you are stuck.
I wish George and his family the best, but I'm ready to read about other recruits now who want to be gators. The young man is only a sophomore!
