Commits to Miami.... considered to be UF lean by quite a bit.

And also...... this commitment is completely not in line with his interview thoughts after last week's visit. But oh well

It's......."The BagMan". He must have been in town.

Sounds like he got that nice cash payment from Miami.

There are obviously plenty of head-scratchers in recruiting, but this is a big one. He spoke very highly of us last week and out of all the places that can 'wow' somebody in a weekend...um isn't one of them. The facilities aren't good, coach isn't thought of as an amazing recruiter, mediocre team, etc, etc.

Miami has brand new facilities and they are very nice. Not Oregon...but arguably one of the best in the ACC.

Yikes, where does this leave us from a 2015 RB standpoint? Patrick is seemingly all Nole. Barring a Scarlett flip to us or a miracle with Harris, I am not sure what big time backs we actually have a good chance with. We have a shot at Mcloud, but he is another smaller back like Powell. It's a long way til NSD, hopefully we can grab a couple decent RBs that fit the new system.

There's still TJ Simmons out there and of course there is always a Jeff jones lingering out there somewhere ie: a good recruit that no one heard of.

What's odd is how many are now concerned that we lost out on a unranked recruit. I thought we were florida and we don't get unranked and 3* players. (Sarcasm)

For the record, I am not one who worries about the star rankings. I think williams looks like a fine back, as I also was elated to steal both 3* wr sousa and worton from fsu. Just saying, why the change of heart now for some?

FWIW, Williams is a pretty solid 4 star and you can see why from his tape. Seemed like a solid player who had legit interest in UF. Our coaches seemed to want the kid as well.

I don't think that 3 star players are bad. Certainly star rating is not a garuntee of on field performance. However, frequently settling for 3 star kids because of losing out on higher rated ones will eventually be evident on the field. We have plenty of talent at RB right now. We can certainly stand to add some quality depth. Again, there is a ton of time before NSD. Hopefully the staff can get a couple big time players on board.

I wouldn't consider the aforementioned sousa and worton "settling" I think they will fit perfect into what we are trying to do offensively. And I too like dexter ' s film, although for some reason he isn't ranked. Which leads to my point that the coaches do the most research on these guys, much more than us that is and if they like a guy for some reason or another than so do I.

He's rated highly on 247, but NR on Rivals. I'm not sure if Rivals is done with their 2015 rankings yet as there are a lot of players still without star ratings on there. WRT Sousa and Worton, I believe they will be very good players, but I also think the coaches had other WRs rated higher on their board last year.

I think we just hung on to ermon lane to long. Should have pulled his offer long before and we may have had a better shot at flipping rudolph.

I agree. Even if it didn't help with Rudolph, the writing was on the wall. I don't envy these coaches sometimes when they are trying to recruit x number of guys to a position. Some kids get angry when coaches continue to recruit guys at their position, but they almost have to in order to insure against flips.

'one of the best in the ACC' does not blow anyone away. They have upgraded, but not enough to erase suspicion with this commit.

I believe we are looking at Ray Ray at the RB and then will hold that last RB spot for someone we really want. I don't think this Williams recruitment is over at all. He will keep taking visits and listen to what others have to say. Don't think we will take Simmons right now, and with Wayne Peace as his head coach, I think we can have him when we want him.
