All of that is nice, but gotta win the battles ON the field for any of those battles OFF the field to work out for Florida.

Let's keep these kind of fantasies to ourselves for the moment.

I don't believe anybody here wrote it. We are favorites for many and top 2 for the others. Of course anything can happen, but I'm not sure fantasy would truly represent the thought process behind it.

These types of threads are the seeds of future recruiting forum meltdowns.

Not really. These threads are the types you see in the summer before the season; most likely on every site. Its called recruiting, which is mostly about hype.

I'm not sure why everybody is hating on this thread right now, except for Tebowism. I started this thread because I'm optimistic about our team. The article doesn't say that these guys are locks for us right now, but it also doesn't say that they're fantasies for us either. It just says that they're all highly interested which is very good for us. That's why they use words like "on the verge", and "possible," because nothing in the recruiting world is a sure thing until its in pen on NSD.

I apologize for putting out something that doesn't relate to Muschamp being on the hot seat, or something negative of that same nature. I'm excited about our team this year because I believe we're going to shock a lot of people and win a lot of football games, which in turn will help recruiting.

Basically what I'm trying to portray through the article is that there is a silver lining in what has been the toughest offseason I can remember. But again, I apologize for being optimistic.

    ctresh...
    I am with you man...
Been watching Gator Football for over 47 years... roughest season and off season that I have ever witnessed.
0-10-1 back in 1979 was a disaster... but ALL of us knew it was going to be rough.

Last year's debacle after a great previous season...was simply embarassing.

I feel very, very good about this upcoming season... and that is not just that, "New Season--Hope Springs Eternal" crap.
I truly feel that we will open some eyes this year.
So, yes... I appreciate your post and the article.

This is not a knock on our signings. I am glad they are all Gators. That said, is it problematic when I get an e-mail update saying that we landed a new recruit and my first thought is "which 3 star did we get?" The OP seems to indicate we will have a serious run of 4 and 5 stars. Is that still on track and on the horizon?

We're down to 41st on at least one site. Not worried, but not encouraged. We have some great prospects leaning our way, but continue to lose commits and take new ones who look like reaches. If the coaches told me in person that eight commits at this point was where they wanted to be, I'd be okay. I'm not so sure it's the case. At this point, we really do have to prove it on the field. I love the potential of the team entering the season, but the our schedule is setting up like the Battle of Dunkirk. If we had 15 solid commits who were sold on the future of this program and the stability of the coaching staff, I wouldn't be worried. There is too much uncertainty now. The guys who commit now have to want to play for the Gators now matter who the coaches are. Champ has to sell the program feeling like he did when he walked into the coaches offices trying to walk in back in the 90s. Then he has to go head to head with Spurrier this season remembering that SOS stood him up to play golf.

They always overrate our recruits, at least relative to the other services. I think Rivals and 247 are more reliable.

No way to sugar coat it. Things aren't good right now. There is a cure though... it's called winning.

I’m not a fan of Rivals, but I do like 247. Is Rivals still more Pro FSU as it was in the past?

Well one of the recruits we were supposed to get was McCloud, but there are still guys out there like Adonis Thomas, who might decide Friday, CeCE Jefferson and Byron Cowart (even though now they aren't a package deal) Martez Ivey is slipping away, but winning on the field might sway him back our way, and we're still in it for Jeffery Holland, Roquan Smith, and a few others. We won't get all of these players, but we are in the hunt or leading for all of them.

    All is not lost.
