@ZachAbolverdi: Per @Niebuhr247, LB Jeff Holland named Auburn his leader over UF today. He told me last week it was a two-team race between Gators & Tigers.

Well you can mark Cowart off the list.

@ZachAbolverdi: #UF in-state target Byron Cowart. RT “@ByronHawkStar99: Im going far away for college”

It's still a long ways away til he chooses a college. Kids are getting too good at this twitter stuff with fans and are learning how to play the game. I'm not reading into this at all until I see some kind of evidence besides just a twitter post.

I am assuming you have just started following recruiting? These kids treat recruiting as a game, and many of them have competitions among themselves who can "troll" the media the most. Follow the kids actions not his words. He has visited UF multiple times. His mother is a main decision maker in this situation and really wants him close to home. He has never been to Oregon, across the country. It is April.

Stephon Diggs was "dreaming about playing in the Swamp" right before he put on a Maryland hat, and he is just one of many. I wouldn't cross anybody off any list yet.

No, I didn't just start following recruiting. I know these kids can change their mind at the drop of a hat.

I knew Diggs wasn't coming to Florida. He never gave any strong indications he was coming here.

Besides committing to the staff a couple of times, you have a point.

No reason to be offended (I'm assuming that's why you made a comment about Diggs that makes no sense). Point is, no one that has followed Cowart is more worried after that last comment.

Well I guess you are a bit behind, although somehow you "knew" Diggs wasn't coming here? Not really sure what to tell you on that one. Kids give commitments to coaches without going public (silents) all the time and then go to other schools. Nothing is done till its inked on the LOI.

And, as I am I sure you are aware, we have no clue what a kid told the staff or not. You both are guessing on diggs or anybody else. My suggestion would be let's not follow this process too closely, grown men following kids is kind of silly, don't u think.

I am not guessing. Insiders who have are plugged into the program reported this during his cycle. I appreciate your suggestion, but you are suggesting I not follow recruiting in a recruiting thread. I am not saying that you should be following a kid on twitter or trying to befriend them, but as with any business you ensure you have the proper future inputs to produce the expected finished good. Do I think I can change what happens? Of course not. But I enjoy following it, and I am guessing you are in the minority as Yahoo thought people following recruiting was big enough to buy Rivals for $100 MM.

No no, I am not suggesting not following recruiting. I follow it, just wouldn't put much into the "what people said". We here that stuff every year. I probably should not have said it the way I did, no offense.

Silent committing to a staff does not mean a strong indication a recruit is going to commit to that school. If that were the case he would have gone to OSU for as much time as he spent with Urban. Like you said, bottom line we don't know where these kids are going until they sign the LOI.

BTW Cowart had his visit with Oregon and he was pretty much blown away by the visit. It's going to take a hell of a recruiter to keep him here in Florida.

Where did you see that Cowart visited Oregon. According to most recruiting sites, Cowart has recently listed Oregon as his leader, but has not visited and will not visit until this summer so not sure what he was blown away by? As for your the last sentence, I believe we have a few "great" recruiters on our staff, but IMO our "hell of a recruiter" is going to his mother who is going to realize she doesn't want her son across the country.

Saw it on an Oregon website. He has said Oregon is currently his clear leader at this time.

Not trying to start an argument, but according to Oregon 247, he hasn't visited and is trying to get out there in June prior to him being out there for the Opening in July. This is also backed up by a Gatorbait article saying he wasn't out there yet and both of these came out in the last 3 days. Could he have gotten out there and it remain a secret? Sure. But if this is the case, whatever site you saw it on seems to have an inside scoop, and I would guess I am not the only one who would be interested to see the link, or any real citing of that source.

It must have been a personal visit and not an official. Why else would he all the sudden name Oregon his front runner?
