Great stuff g8rmann. If Kapita and Johnson are backup plans, those are two really good back up plans to have. I am in the Bullis boat though. We gotta be careful with what bigs we recruit since 16 with Azibuke and Durham should be big.

Kapita would fit the bill extremely well as the second big man in next year's class along with Hayes. With the departures of Harris, Horford and Walker (likely) we will have a big need for bigs right away.

Room for all 3 as they are all very different types of players and getting Kaptia would help with Azubuike.

I'm on the Kapita bandwagon. I have a hunch he will begin to rise in the rankings over the course of his senior season.

Yeah I like Kapita, he would put the perfect bow on this class.

How does getting Egbunu affect our chances with Kapita and the other guys in the future? Can Kapita and Egbunu be considered complementary? I'm admittedly a little ignorant about Kapita's game

Lots of things could happen, but I wouldn't get too comfortable with the idea that Egbunu will play three years for Florida. Kapita is a rebounding machine and probably will be a strong on ball defender whose offensive game will develop.

I think we need some guards that can shoot the rock and can shake loose for their shot when needed. hopefully they will quit slow playing Allen from Arkansas.

Gators nab Nelson, Florida's 4th recruit from Alabama

So..... Nelson is a great pickup for the Gator football team, but he also happens to be one of the top point guard prospects from Alabama. Any chance he'll be a two sport guy? He's listed as a 6-foot-3, 190-pounder. I'm not sure if the Gators are already set at the point guard position going forward, but it sounds like he's good basketball player and Coach White's system at least at the moment is using a lot of players in his rotation. Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone with better knowledge on the matter might speculate on it. Maybe it's a pipe dream, but if they guy is a talented basketball player, it would be nice to see him be able to contribute to both Gator sports :)

Jacoby Brissett was a tremendous basketball player, and he only played football.

Ah, good point. Just was wondering what the chances might be since we've got new coaching staff in both football and basketball. It's likely going to end up like you suggest with Nelson playing only football, especially with how specialized things are with athletes nowadays, i.e. focusing only on one sport. :) Anyway, I hope Nelson continues to blossom as a football player and brings his friend and teammate, Lyndell Wilson, to the Gator football team.
