I think he's originally from the Atlanta area
My question is how long has he been interested in ASU? I thought it was between the good guys and the Ducks?
Not sure that Phoenix is a very west coast town. It's five hours from LA and pretty dull compared to SF or Gainesville. It's like St. Pete in the desert. 247 still has him likely headed to UF, though I don't know if there are any updates related to his trip to ASU.
So he grew up watching UF beat UGA over and over again. Glad he's been in Cali the last two years.
He's from Georgia originally, went to JUCO in Cali. Wants o be closer to home. Looks though like we are going a different route, and we won't let him commit because of others higher on our board
Very interesting. First I heard of him as a 'hold'. Where's that coming from if u don't mind me asking?
Insider here on GC. You guys really should consider spending the $6/month or so on the subscription. Its well worth it.
That's my concern! Been on here instead of getting work done today and I'm worried a subscription would make it even worse.
Would love to have this kid as a Gator but logic points to him being a Sun Devil. I'd like to find a positive spin on him shutting down recruiting while on ASU's campus but I can't.
Whom might that be?
I heard he chose not to EE at ASU/Oregon etc. so that he could earn a math credit required to play in the SEC. Could be bad info but I think he's a Gator.
I know what you mean, but to me all PAC teams are west coast teams even if they're not literally on the coast.
LAGatorDoc said that the "pay boards" have a hold on him becasue they're might be looking elsewhere... We'll see if his paid info is any better than the tea leaves reading bunch here. Lol... But it's interesting to me that he shut his recruitment down right after a visit to ASU...
No idea. There are like 12 names being thrown around for the remaining 5-7 spots. Don't know who the staff may be looking at for the Lauderdale position, because I thought Lauderdale was who they wanted to replace Lane. Nobody on the board currently has the same size/skill-set as Lauderdale/Lane, so I don't know who. Unless they are looking at all smaller, faster receivers for all of the remaining positions.
The other option is Lauderdale loved ASU so much, he decided against UF, and told our coaches so this weekend. He was a lock to UF as early as before this weekend. The girls at ASU are the best looking of any college campus I've seen. From his film, I think Lauderdale should have been a take, but what do I know.
Yes, he reportedly won't be able to participate in spring ball. That's kind of beat, considering that you bring JUCO prospects in to fill immediate needs, and getting on campus as quickly as possible helps with the development of those players.
I find it interesting that Doc is saying that the staff isn't letting him commit because of others who are higher up on the board. I know Roper wants guys who can make plays in space, and that we've recruited some pretty big-bodied receivers in that last cycle, but Lauderdale is a pretty impressive prospect on film. Robinson, Hawkins and Fulwood have upside to their game, but it was odd that we saw very little of Robinson in the second half of last season, particularly after that dropped slant against Mizzou. Lauderdale will make tough catches in traffic.
Who are these players ahead of Lauderdale?
I know. I spent 12 years in Gainesville. Still, I would rate it ASU>USC>FSU>UF>UCLA>UArizona>OSU (Oregon). I have never been to Texas schools but I hear girls are beautiful there too. The ASU girls are the ones that couldn't meet the academic requirements at UCLA or USC. Much the same at UF and FSU
