What's the latest with Lauderdale? He seems like a capable replacement for Lane.

I just brought that up in an existing thread, but I think he deserves his own. He looks like a lean, but he has an Oregon visit and somewhere, maybe Arizona. I still think we get him and like I said in that other thread, he'd probably get on the field faster than Lane would have, though probably doesn't have as high a ceiling.

I think the best "trade" for Lane was getting Tabor who will be the kind of corner we need to jam Ermon and put some velcro on him as he tries to get open. No question Tabor is a higher caliber player at his position than Lane.

Lauderdale would be a nice addition to this class. While he's not the most dynamic playmaker I've ever seen with the ball in his hands, he's absolutely fearless going over the middle. We need guys like that. He also uses his body well to shield defenders while the ball is in the air. He doesn't have great lateral quickness, and flash isn't really his style, but he throws it down on the field. He'll be the type of guy who will throw key blocks at the next level to spring some big runs.

I hope we get him. Anybody who follows recruiting closely knows a final visit to Oregon is never a good thing, and he'll be in Eugene later on this month....

That's exactly what I said. It was pretty evident at the UAAA game.

The good thing is that it will probably be 43 degrees and rainy out here. Although Oregon has a ridiculous facility to sway recruits.

Just watched Lauderdale's highlights for the first time. Looks like a guy who would fit a similar role to D-Rob. Big, physical player, but still pretty quick in and out of breaks. Uses his hands pretty well to fight jams. Should be able to block well at his size. High points the ball. Nice target for red zone and third down conversions. He would be a very nice pick up and could contribute right away.

Why do we need Tabor to cover Lane. Quincy shut him down when they played. I said in another thread a while back that I thought Lane was overrated at where they have him nationally. Wilson is very underrated.

Hope you're right about Lane. I was blown away by him in The Opening, but seven-on-seven ball doesn't put the physical demands on receivers that they'll face in college or even quality 11 on 11 high school ballgames.

He's good, man. You probably watched the same clip I did, and he does run several nice routes. He has very quick feet. There are only limited opportunities to see what he's capable of doing in the open field, though. Uses his body well, and I agree that he's somebody you can look for inside the twenty. I hope we get him.

That sounds very promising for UF! I see one recruiting guru predicting Eric to ASU & none to Nebraska.

Is it worrisome that he canceled his UO visit while at ASU? I don't see how this is good news for us (and I'm usually a pumper).

Its not. I would not have him in my mock class for UF.

With Oregon out, I think he's UF's to lose. Can't imagine what ASU could show or tell him that would sway him from UF. I think he cancelled his UO visit because he's done with visits and ready to get everything over with.

He's from Cali and he just visted a west coast team... then shut his visits down... and some here think he's ours to lose? I hope you're right.

This was my point. He visits a team with a good O and suddenly has his mind made up. Only positive is if it somehow showed how much he likes UF.
