Borzello is now picking Looney to the Gators.
Not to mention, Frazier will still be around with these guys as sophomores. He could have a huge senior year from behind the arc.
Gotta admit, I'm not complaining about UK recruiting, but I am envious of how you guys can look ahead like that and see how classes will combine and mix over time. Not trying to derail the thread - just thought I'd point out a aspect of recruiting that I miss in a way.
Yeah, I've always enjoyed that aspect at well, REM. It's give and take though. With these guys, you can't necessarily plug them into the lineup right away. We get the guys who have a long term impact, you guys get recruits that make an immediate impact.

If anyone says they know ... They're lying RT @tnorangejuice: how you feeling on the other announcement tomorrow, Looney?
Evan Daniels @EvanDanielsFOX 2h
One coach involved with the Kevon Looney recruitment told me: "Strangest recruitment ever.
Jeff Borzello @jeffborzello 46m
Billy Donovan and Florida visited Kevon Looney today, while Nate James was also there for Duke.

Impossible to read. RT @GantShawn: anything popping about looney and his announcement tomorrow?

@Future150 #3 prospect Kevon Looney chooses his school tomorrow morning. I'm thinking the Florida Gators strike twice and land another stud.
Crazy stuff. Could you imagine if we get him? What a balanced incredible class that would be!
If we get him and Walker stays for 2014-2015 that team will be really fun to watch especially with the new hand checking rules.
Not getting my hopes up at all on Looney, but we have been in on him for awhile. At one point, he seemed all Dukie. Haven't heard anything much on him since the start of the travel seasons last spring.
Holy shit and Please let it be. Might not sleep tonight. If we get Looney I will never call you guys out again. In fact, whatever we are doing, lets keep doing it
I don't want to get my hopes up, but last 3 crystal ball predictions on 247 tonight have Looney picking the Gators.
I'll let tomorrow take care of tomorrow. For today we have landed a great player.
Where is that thread about Shaq predicting a phenomenal Gator recruiting class? I might have to dig it out and bump it if we also get Looney.
Quality Recruit, but I wouldn't exactly call a young man who weighs 169 lbs a Big Guy. A tall, agile, athletic, versatile and flexible, yes, but BIG - I think not. Perhaps he can put on 60 lbs, then he would be relatively BIG, but that might slow him up somewhat.
Great Git, however, and certainly fits Billy D's style well.

@tnorangejuice I'm not sure anyone has any reliable info on Looney. It was a toss-up b/w UF and UT for me.
Where have you seen him listed at 169? Some sites have him at 180, others at 190.
He is a "big" in that he projects at one of our post positions. He has the height for a "big" at 6'8", he is extremely long, and he went on two late growth spurts that have leaned him out considerably. I highly doubt he ever adds 60 pounds, but his frame is about where Tyus or Noah were at this stage.
Awesome news, we are getting better and better.
From watching the video....looks like a great get.
Love his length, love his release on the outside shot and the high point at which he sets from (at 6'8 it will make up for the slowness of his process).
Seems to be a bit uncoordinated for his size and lacking in elite athleticism.....both will probably come along though as he will grow into his body (6'8 170)
this is the perfect type of guy for Billy D as a player developer......this guy could end up as a dynamic multi-faceted PF in time. Almost reminds me a raw/under-developed type of Chris Walker. Or he could end up being a long tall scoring wingman (SF).
please don't take this as being anything more than a simple statement of basic appearance. but physically his body frame looks a lot like Kevin Durant to me.
going to be fun watching a player like this develop
Welcome to the Gator Nation Mr. Robinson!! You are going to be a part of many Gator great teams!
