10/30/2013: added committment of Devin Robinson, and pretty much cleared the board of PG/SG. Not sure what bigs we still have a shot at? I left the uncommitted guys on there from earlier, just in case. :)

I made the one for the 2013 recruits and it was running for a while I just havent really added anything to it since Randle went to the darkside.

List looks great so far and I havent heard to much in regards to who we are after, at this point everyone is after everyone.

I have read that Grayson Allen wants to go to Duke, however he does go to the same school that Patric Young went to.

    2014 Mock Class:
    C - Trayvon Reed 6'11 200lb Rivals #59
    PF - Malik Price-Martin 6'8 190lb Rivals #45
    SG - Grayson Allen 6'4" 185lb Rivals #32
    SG - D'Angelo Russell 6'4" 185 Rivals #22
    PG - Mitchell Wilbekin 6'1 165lb UR Walk-On

Don't even have to leave the state of Florida.

Need to replace four SRs, plus NBA jumps and possible transfers. I think 4 is a minimum for this class.

Reed's from Georgia. Russell has no interest in UF. Hope we can get Allen.

Looks like we'll be going after three and four year players. We're either not recruiting five star prospects this cycle or they're just not interested in UF.

This site has a lot of great (free) info. Only site I've seen that actually calls up gator hoops recruits and gets quotes from them.

Great stuff. I used to do a thread like that, but I've just gotten too busy. That kind of info is very helpful, and I know how much work it takes to compile, so thanks.

I read somewhere that Russel was still waiting on an offer from UF. So he was at least mentioning Florida as one of his possible choices... if we were to offer.

What? I gave him a bit of a hard time about listing M. Wilbekin as a possible walkon. But other than that he just tossed out a mock class of all kids from Florida. That spurred on more conversation ON UF BASKETBALL RECRUITING. I for one favor that.

Glad I read that. Stanley Johnson out of CA looks like a terrific SG/SF prospect. Kevin Looney from Milwaukee is another five star SF that has the Gators on his list, ditto Justise Winslow from Houston. Wings seem to be the focus of the recruiting efforts so far, but I do see one big man with UF high on his list, Trey Lisles from Indianapolis. Looks like Kentucky's the leader, but it's interesting that Indiana isn't on his list at all.

I'm all for getting the best in-state kids, but an all Florida class would not be very good.

We have no shot at Russel, and some of those other players aren't high on our board. And no way Wilbekin walks on

Great find. Thanks. He is sort of a mirror image of Rosario, in many respects or even Mark Lyons of Xavier/Zona. Confident, aggressive volume scorer who competes and can play either guard spot. Not the idea point guard for our system, but he could do if Hill were to leave and we had no one else in place.

Possibly an adequate replacement for Wilbekin if Hill stays. He can spell spell Hill and rotate with Frazier who will probably get more time at the three after Prather is gone. There's always room for an experience collegiate player who can create his own shot. Was very impressed with him when he torched the Gators.

Grayson Allen has committed to Duke, he was waiting for the offer. He received it and is now committed.

Rutgers guard Eli Carter is considering six schools for his next stop.

“The schools that I am considering are Maryland, Florida, Memphis, Creighton, Buffalo & Pittsburgh !!” he Tweeted.

Carter met Tuesday with Florida and Pitt and was slated to meet with Maryland on Wednesday.

“Right now his dad wants to talk to a few coaches and see what their plans are for him and where they see him fitting into their program,” Sports U coach Brian Coleman previously told SNY.tv.

“He’s kind of open, he’s looking for the best fit where he can get a chance to showcase himself.”

The 6-foot-2 Carter averaged 14.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists before fracturing his right fibula in mid-February against DePaul.

He would have two years of eligibility remaining and could apply for a waiver to play immediately given the extenuating circumstances surrounding Mike Rice’s firing.

Carter’s former teammate, junior wing Mike Poole, announced plans to transfer to Iona on Tuesday.

If we get him, I'd rather see him sit out. He'll be more of a need the two years following next season.

I suspect he could start for us next year. He is really good.
