OT Yodny Cajuste 6-6 270 of Miramar High School, Miramar FL. .

    .

    ******

I see why our new offensive line coach, Mike Summers, likes what he sees on film.

Yodny is visiting Florida this weekend and from what I hear he's Florida's to lose.

It's possible he'll commit on his visit. We are racking up on offensive linemen.

"The offensive lineman may be from South Florida but growing up it was the team in Gainesville that Cajuste was rooting for.

“Growing up I was a Florida Gators fan,” Cajuste said. “I like everything about the Gators really. I know that even though they had a bad season they can do way better and that they are a BCS caliber team every year.”

With just three weeks until signing day things are getting tight for Cajuste who says that he is down to just three schools with two visits left including this weekend’s visit to Florida.

“I’m down to Florida, West Virginia and Samford,” Cajuste said. “West Virginia actually wants me to gray shirt. I haven’t really talked to West Virginia lately but I’ll find out more from them when I go visit them on the 24th.”

    See his tape...

Why are we battling with West Virginia (who doesn't have him high enough to offer him a scholarship now) and Samford? I am less concerned with starts than offer lists and that is not impressive company.

Reminds me of Trevon Young except it seems like Cjaustes heart is more into football.

I guess is that Summers likes what he has seen on tape and they want to get him in for an in depth interview to be sure.

I think I read somewhere that he can also play DE if they decide to switch him to another position.

It's been said many times you can't have too many of these big ugly linemen.

You can have too many. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say they offer him a scholarship contingent on Prince going elsewhere like Andrades we picked up out of Tally on signing day a couple years ago.

The Skinny: The Gators have recently extended an offer to this unranked offensive tackle but have been in talks with him for many months dating back to when previous offensive line coach Tim Davis was on staff. Cajuste is very high on UF and has grown up a fan of the Gators, but also is high on West Virginia, due in part to his former high school head coach now on the Mountaineer's coaching staff. If Cajuste feels comfortable and gets the green light from the coaching staff he could pull the trigger this weekend. - See more at: http://alabama.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1598662#sthash.TEkGZVb8.dpuf

When has Florida ever extended an offer to an unranked player?

I'm just wondering if this guy is really a take, or more of an insurance policy for NSD. We seemingly lead for Andrew Mike, and are at least in the running for Prince. I know we'd like to take a couple more playmakers in this class, plus hopefully Adoree Jackson. At 6'5, 265 he seems like he has a good frame and may project well after some time in the weight room.

Does seem a bit odd we're looking at a guy who might get gray shirted at WVU... as his best offer... when Prince and Andrew Mike are on the board.

Probably a plan B. His highlights show him dominating smaller competition... shoving guys all over the field and pancaking them. Good stuff, but didn't see him playing against guys that looked like they could physically compete with him. He seemed comfortable in space. Saw him taking some false steps and playing a little high, so there will be some stuff he needs to clean up / get more consistent at, if he comes here.

There's not a lot on the internet about him. He has no star rating on Rivals, although Rivals does list offers from Miami, Temple and several smaller schools in addition to WVU. A few other offers listed in the article quoted below.

I did find this HS football article that noted this is his first year playing football.

We need bodies, man. From 2010-12 we only signed a total of six linemen, with three (Dunker, Silberman and Jordan) no longer on scholarship. That is a backbreaking fact. Garcia, Green and Brown are all seniors. It's not far-fetched to suggest that we may see Humphries in his final season as a Gator this year.

I say offer him. Whether we have Prince in the bag or not, I don't think it matters. If he doesn't work out, oh well.

Gee, I wonder if we can out duel Samford? This seems on first sight to be plan D not B. I now worry about our chances with Prince, Carter, Jackson, Lauderdale, etc. if we are filling up the last 4 slots with unranked players.

Even though we essentially brought in seven linemen last year, Garcia, Brown and and Moore may has well have been Juco prospects. Moore just has an extra year. Trevon Young has already left the program, so that, combined with the numbers from the aforementioned classes above, is reason enough to offer this guy.

Or it could be that we just really need offensive linemen.
