With hopes of addition by subtraction, what do you think is a reasonable projected lineup at OL for 2014? How's Dillard?

LoL "addition by subtraction". There's been a little too much of that lately.

Prince and Sharpe would be a good start.

Humphries, Garcia, Dillard (C), Moore, Green.

Hard to say with the other two freshmen, but hopefully they along with Brown will help, maybe start. If we can get one of the 2014 freshmen to contribute, that would be helpful.

That's what it looks like to me, also. However, I'm hopeful that Rod Johnson pushes someone for a starting position. I don't know if being being in better shape will give Trenton Brown quicker feet, but I'll cross my fingers on that one.

Is Davis still the coach in this scenario?

This is the problem, there will not be open competition. The returning starters will start because they have more experience, not because they are the best players. Muschamp feels olinemen shouldn't contribute until their red shirt soph year, and you wonder why we can't get top olinemen to come here.

DJ played as a freshmen. Muschamp said they should play some thier redshirt freshmen year and be competing for starting jobs thier redshirt sophomre year if I remember correctly but I could be wrong.

DJ Dunker were top linemen. Rod Johnson was wanted by the big 3 in Florida. Nolan Kelleher who is committed was wanted by all of are rivals.

Kind of walked into that one. Probably should know anything about our current players before posting.

Mizzo game Halipino run 10 yards down field resulting in a penalty. He through a block on DB who side stepped it.
Camera drew back to show all players were on the other side of the field in play .
Result Halipno was lost and alone.
    He is our OL leader?

Halapio was never that good, and now he's hampered by an injury. Kind of hard to really be down on a guy that lacks talent and is injured to boot. Conversely, don't know what to say about the play of the healthy Olinemen.

I still think this is a problem.....If a kid has the mentality that it's alright to take a redshirt without competing, is that kid ever going to be the best ???? No....

The ironic thing in this whole matter is DJ SHOULD have redshirted because of his weight, however our offensive coaches were wrong about that too....

wtf most kids think they are going to come in and play as freshmen. I remember Jackson and Rod Johnson saying they were going to play right away. It seemed like Dillard realized he was not going to beat out Harrison but he believes he is competing for that starting center job next year.

While it would have been great to redshirt DJ we had no choice but to play him. IMO the coaches were right to put him in because he was the best option.

It is not often that a lot of freshmen would start on the oline. However, a lot of these top HS recruits nowadays are much better prepared than even 5 or 10 years ago because of all the camps and even training that they do under supervision of strength trainers and such. Realistically an early enrollee who weights 280# when he arrives could easily put on 20 to 25# and increase their strength 25%-30% by the time fall camp rolls around. Given some limited reps in the first few games many of these kids could be ready to contribute or even start by mid season.......and it is happening at programs everywhere........except here............WHY ???

I don't think Tyler's woes have anything to do with coaching. He's just out of position and there is really nothing Davis can do about it. Then again some of our other players haven't developed. If this team wins 6-7 games I think Champ will have to make a few heads roll because he'll need to shake a few things up. And obviously with the OL struggling so much Davis would seem to be the most susceptible.

Are you kidding me? These kids aren't developing, in fact, they are getting worse. If that doesn't fall on the coaches, then what the hell does?
