Vanderbilt takes a National Seed in this weeks’ NCAA Regionals Projections following a road series win against Florida. The Commodores outscored the Gators 19-3 in the series which included a blowout win on Sunday. Vanderbilt pulled off the feat in Florida which makes the series win even more impressive. The Commodores starting pitchers Tyler Beede, Carson Fulmer and Tyler Ferguson combined to allow one earned run in the entire series over 20 innings pitched.
The trio was dominant in the series in which Vandy’s only loss was a 1-0 decision Friday night as Florida’s Logan Shore out-dueled Beede.

Carson Fulmer is on an amazing run with 28 consecutive scoreless innings pitched for Vanderbilt which includes a complete game, four-hit shutout of the Gators on Saturday.

South Carolina at Vanderbilt will be huge in the national seeding decisions process.

UF has all the numbers for a national seed so it would be nice to close out the SEC championship at UT this week with a series win. Getting a top seed in the SEC tourney would be all good too.

One thing is for sure about those projections. You won't see a Vandy regional paired up with a South Carolina regional. It can't happen per the rules.

Another set of projections from KR at Perfect Game:

The race for the final two or three national seeds is hot and heavy with only a couple of weeks separating us from Selection Monday. Barring a huge surprise this weekend and in conference tournaments, there are four teams we feel like are virtual locks for national seeds: Virginia, Oregon State, Florida and Florida, with the Seminoles the most vulnerable of the four, especially if the committee only wants two ACC national seeds with Miami also in the running.

Fitt at BA says there are only 2 secure national seeds--and they both wear orange and blue!

    NATIONAL SEEDS
    SECURE TEAMS:
    Virginia, Florida
ON THE BUBBLE (IN): Oregon State, Florida State, Indiana, Louisiana-Lafayette, Texas Christian, Vanderbilt
ON THE BUBBLE (OUT): Mississippi, Miami, Rice, South Carolina, Cal Poly, Oklahoma State
One change from last week: Vanderbilt replaces Ole Miss as a national seed.

I think the overall record might end up knocking us down to the 6 or 7 seed, but as long as we don't go 0-5 the rest of the way, we will be a national seed.

Id say Vandy has some work to do if they want a National Seed. Lost to SC tonight in extra innings. Had the game won and their bullpen gave it up in the ninth and tenth. Right now they are 4th in the SEC.

Ole Miss might get some consideration if they sweep aTm and do well in the SEC tourney. They lead the West by a game over Miss St and their record looks good. UF's and Ole Miss' success shows what the SEC coaches don't know about their fellow conference teams as they preseason voted UF 5th and Ole Miss somewhere in the bottom half of the league.
