    Back in the early to mid 2000's, they had a number of D-1 prospects, the best of them, notably Jon Beason went to UM.

    They have no shortage of money and nice facilities, I understand that Beason has donated a lot to the school. The biggest problem is the decrease in financial aid given to athletes over the years. When Guandolo was there, he had a pipeline into Miami-Dade and whoever he wanted, they got (provided they met academic standards). With University School, Both American Heritage schools upping the ante, they've had problems keeping up.

    I remember when I attended there in the early 80's, any athlete was scooped up by STA. When your family can get a tuition break, you take it and run. If they want to get back to where they were, they have to start handing out schollies again. As a private school, you really don't have a choice.
