Lurker I am not sure it took his spot away but that spot is def in jeopardy now. Only need 2 or 3 DT's this class so I would guess they will probably turn the pressure down on Lamin which should help you Cocks out. But that is just an uninformed guess

Lurker? Do your homework. Clark will be coming in as a frosh and Lamin as a Junior. There is always competition and you know it.

    Lordy!!

Then how is he not a 7* on ESPN? I'm loving this news; that's for sure. Boom!

Didnt Khairi come out and vocally support UF a few months ago? I don't remember the story all that well but what I do recall is someone (a recruit, or a recruits parent or a coach) had some disparaging comments toward/ about UF and Clark defended UF w some very positive comments. That's the point I thought to myself, that kids a Gator.

Sorry for being so vague. If anyone has specifics Id appreciate it!

Big time. This kid is supposedly a player. Outside of an elite quarterback, I can't think of a single position as difficult to recruit and as important to success.

Love his hands and foot speed. Agree with above poster; should be exciting to see what happens in the weight room.

I know we had grade concerns at one point, not sure if they've been addressed.

Been off the board for a couple of days. This is an absolute shocker. This is one of the most imposing and talented prospects in the state at any position and I don't think there's a more important position for UF than DT. I had written Clark off to UM from the beginning. The kid and the news is huge. IMHO, this will be a turning point in our recruiting. I think LBs will start falling our way soon. DEs will be dying to be in this class, but will probably have to wait. We will take who we want, when we want to fill out our DL class.

He'd only be ranking 4 guys, and we have 2 of them.

Demarcus Christmas or Travonte Valentine are the other 2. Christmas is ranked as the better of the 4 DT's by Rivals, but he is committed to FSUcks. But in reality, a committment to FSUcks seems to be equal to a solid verbal to us these days, so we'll see I guess. imho, Demarcus Christmas and Khairi Clark are pretty neck-and-neck.

Having Clark and Moten means we can afford to slow play a bigger fish, such as Andrew Brown. Getting commits from Brown + Clark + Moten = Best DT recruiting class in the nation. hands down.

If we don't land Christmas or Brown close to NSD, there's no doubt we'll take a JUCO. If the staff really falls in love with a JUCO before EE's, then I think they'll snap him up around then and make room for a guy like Brown or Christmas on NSD. More so for Brown, tho.

But Clark and Moten are huge for our class. There's not many who are better in this whole cycle. Be very happy.

    1 Valentine
    2 Clark
    3 Christmas
    4 Moten

nobody after that is even worth a UF offer
    Valentine has academic issues
Moten is a commit but he could decommit at some point

Going forward I expect us to push hard for Lambert who is more of an end than a tackle.

The Louisiana trio of McDowell Willis Godchaux are big DE that could grow into DT's also on the board and they have high interest. The problem is they all have LSU offers.

I think we probably end up passing on the JUCO Lamin now and if we have room at the end of the cycle we will take Jarran Reed again. It is all a guess of course since recruiting is fluid.

Here is his sophomore year film when his weight was down. You can see how athletic he was. Last year he struggled to stay in games because of conditioning. Once he gets into UF's S & C program and they reshape his body he is going to be a monster

He looks like a monster on that tape and looks more like ira denson now.

He's still athletic and strong, just needs to replace some fat with muscle.

That looks right. 247 sports has Valentine ranked #4 among DTs, and Clark #8. Christmas doesn't come in till #13. He was much higher up their list. They're probably hearing rumors about his grade issues. Moten is at #23, but I think he's way underrated.

Rivals' list looks like they're way behind in their DT evaluations. It's easy to make fun of Scout, but at this point they might be more accurate with their DT rankings.

Clark is just a beast. I don't think there's a more mobile plus-size DT in the country. Also impressed with his strength at the point of attack. He's a one technique in our system, or a zero-technique in a true 3-4. My guess is that he will lose enough weight to fit in our current flex system.

Clark and Moten are perfect together. Can't wait to see who we end up getting to compliment them at the DE spots.
