Clearwater Central Catholic 2014 DE Justus Reed verbally commits to #UF #gators

    deeR sutsuJ ‏@jreed_4 13m
I have OFFICIALLY committed to the University Of Florida!!!! I've dreamed of this day all my life, never been happier. #GoGators

UF was Reed's dream school. Reed also had offer from FSU UNC OSU MIAMI

Jutus camped in June. It will be interesting to see how this commitment impacts players like Trent Harris and Richard Yeargin III

Im not AZ, but for a high school player he plays with great leverage and has a pretty damn good burst of the los. I believe he is being recruited at buck and it was going to be him or harris in this class.

I am going to watch more film before I make an assessment. He camped and got an offer which means Lawing and Muschamp liked him a lot. Honestly what is most intriguing about this commitment is what does it mean for Richard Yeargin and Trent Harris. While I am no insider I was positive that before the weekend is out we would have a commitment from one of the three. By Reed jumping the gun the question is where does that leave Harris I think Yeargin could play Sam. I would just take Harris knowing we will make room for Carter no matter what. But I am not the staff looking at a limited spots.

I have to look him up... sounds like a great player judging from his list of ship offers.

So we're probably going to take a lot of DE/Buck types, throw them out there and see where they actually belong, DE, DT, Sam, FB or TE.

6'5" 235 according to Rivals. Looks like a definite BUCK. Watching his film, I kept expecting him to get swallowed up by tackles when his hand was on the ground, but he was using the full arsenal - footwork and hands to gain leverage, speed to the outside and to the B gap, an awfully strong bullrush for his size. Kid looks like a player.

I talked to one his team's coaches today. He said every school that came by offered Justus (incl. pOSU, fwiw) He's raw, started out playing basketball & is very quick, obviously able to jump, has great lateral movement. He needs to work on technique, stopping the run & getting more of a football body.

I assumed they were fudged. You only get correct numbers from camps, and if a guy like this was camping around the country he'd be rated higher.

The sack total included five from Justus Reed, a speed rusher who transferred from Clearwater and was playing his first game with CCC. One of Reed’s sacks resulted in a safety.

“I’ve had four sacks in a game before, but I’m pretty sure I’ve never had five before,” said Reed, who has committed to Florida. “And I know I’ve never had five in one half before.”
