Does anybody have a list of who is planning to enroll early?
I heard Grier is EE
Cook and I believe Clark is too. There are a few others too.
The Juco OL is an EE.
247sports has Sarvary, Cook, Grier, Dawson, Kelleher, Bryan and Goolsby as early enrollees.
OL and DTs are especially helpful. Grier is important because we have no one at QB for spring practice. Cook is good because he needs to make up his damn mind for good. I'm happy for Dawson because he's the first commitment for this class. He's hung in there longer than anyone else.
I don't know that counting back to last year helps us anymore since we get six to eight EEs every year.
@ZachAbolverdi: #Gators commit Taven Bryan moves into his dorm today. Also enrolling at #UF this week: Dawson, Grier, Goolsby, Kelleher, Sarvary & Willis.
@Goldkamp247: Boom. RT @LukeStampini: Louisville OL commit Kavaris Harkless is expected to enroll at UF on Monday per coach. http://t.co/SiXU0XYSJB
Hearing that Willis hasn't been admitted yet and, typical for us, is having problems with the admissions office
@ZachAbolverdi: Source close to new #Gators commit Gerald Willis III tells me he will not enroll early at #UF as planned.
Gainesville Sun says the following seven UF players have enrolled early (followed by their Rivals recruiting rank):
Will Grier, 4-star QB
Taven Bryan, 3-star DE
Drew Sarvary, 3-star OL
Duke Dawson, 4-star DB
DeAndre Goolsby, 3-star TE
Kavaris Harkless, 3-star OL
Nolan Kelleher, 4-star OL
Grier is critical, of course, and it's nice to have so many O linemen, especially a 4-star. Maybe we'll be able to play the O&B game this year.
Here we go again with our admissions department...no other schools we compete with seem to have these issues.
Not true. I hear the same complaint on our board.
Like I said...teams we actually compete with. Just a joke...you kind of served that one up on a platter for me.
I knew as soon as I finished typing that I would get that response. Touche.
Tennessee got 13-14/15 possible ees in this semester (clearinghouse and high schools have been closed due to weather, so we may get to 14) which was huge considering our holes to fill.
I seem to remember a DT not making it past UF admissions and immediately enrolling at UT. Just saying.
I assume every school will have recruits rejected because there's no shortage of players that shouldn't even be in college in the first place.
There are dozens of examples, but the early enrollees biggest hurdle is usually the clearinghouse. They are problematic for every school.
I imagine that ee trends will continue, so schools will get more adept at dealing with the clearinghouse. It is just too valuable to have a good portion of your freshman class on campus lifting weights, practicing and adjusting to classes for 8 months prior to the season.
When you look at the UF ees, it doesn't get anymore important than Grier. It's a huge advantage. Tennessee has 2 five stars and 10 or so 4 stars enrolled. Not only are coaches not fighting to keep those commitments, but those guys are already fighting for PT.
Lsu and bama maybe having an auction for him...or mama is having another temper tantrum.
