Anyone plan to attend one of these? Spurrier used to do these in June & July. Used to always look forward to going to the Jax gathering. Spurrier would make some sort of prediction and inevitably make some smartass comment that would get underUT, UGA or FSU fans skin (Free Shoes U, Can't Spell "Citrus" without UT, They always have the top recruiting class but when we play on the field (or something along those lines)).

April 8 — Gainesville Quarterback Club. (this is DURING spring practices)
April 17 — Gator Club of Jacksonville.
May 1 — Broward County Gator Club (Fort Lauderdale).
May 5 — Tampa Gator Club/Pinellas County Gator Club (Tampa).
May 7 — Polk County Gator Club (Lakeland).
May 13 — Central Florida Gator Club (Orlando).
May 20 — Titletown Gator Club (Gainesville).
May 22 — Fightin’ Gator Touchdown Club (Gainesville).

Additionally, the 3 new assistants will be doing speaking engagements:

OC Kurt Roper will speak to the Marion County Gator Club in Ocala

ST's coach Coleman Hutzler will be at the Volusia County Gator Club in Daytona Beach

OL Mike Summers will speak to the Capital Area Gator Club in Tallahassee and the Northwest Florida Gator Club in Pensacola.

I remember going to see Dan Mullen and Greg Mattison speak at the Jax Beaches club years ago. Mattison was hilarious and went out drinking at Ragtime afterwards. He likes Jack & Coke!

Pretty disappointed Muschamp continues to not make appearances in Palm Beach County, one of the largest gator booster clubs in the state. Spurrier/Meyer would make efforts and speak in PBC, not sure why this has changed in recent years. Meh, as long as he's working his tail off to improve this program in 2014

Muschamp should appear at every Gator club. Time to woo the fans, coach.

If anyone has any information on Coach Muschamp's visit to your Gator Club feel free to post that info. I'm sure Gators in your area will appreciate it.

Ought to be an interesting tour. I don't believe Gator fans will treat him with anything but respect, however.

Technically Tampa and Lakeland are south of Orlando ;)

But it does appear to be par for Muschamp. The only stop he hit last year not listed is Atlanta.

Agree with hearing Coach Roper expound on our new non offensive offense. Would love to hear Coach TRob as well. Would bet the entertainment value would exceed what you'll hear from the HBC.

yeah, that's the stop I was counting. Guess he's not interested in stirring up interest down south. Not like many good players come out of there anyway.

No question the farther south you go along the east coast the less attention the media gives to the Gators. Why not the same for Gator Gatherings? Miami? Eh, lets just hand it to UM and FSU. So what if the area contains the largest numbers of alumni and future star football players !

    1. Last time I looked into it, there were more UF alumni in Greater Miami, than FSU and UM alumni combined;

    2. When we won our 2 NC's in '06 and '08, imo/upon recollection from following things a little more closely back then, it was largely the result of Zooker & Co., picking So.Fla. clean in the years before Meyer arrived. Though Meyer did alright there himself, afterwards. (That, and UM's decline to mediocrity in that time period can be largely attributed to Zook's/Meyer's recruiting success there).

Imho, it's a mistake to neglect So. Fla. (Though I realize these gatherings are not directly about recruiting, it's still wise to generate as much excitement as we can, in that area. And I'm in central Fl., so it's not personal--that is, not because I won't be able to see WM because he isn't going there-- just an objective--well, pro-Gator--take).

    JMHO.

And I agree, it's not smart for the Gators to ignore the Greater Miami area. I grew up there and remember when we did get the best players down there.

Sorry for late reply. I completely agree with you. Read my post again...I was trying but obviously failed to communicate complete sarcasm when I said just hand it (Miami area recruits) to Miami and FSU. I complained about the apparent shunning of Miami area to everyone of supposed import including by these Coaches Tours last year and the year before and the year before and the year before and.....ah, forget it. There's a reason. its by design and on purpose. They gladly take our money then its "sit down and be nice, we cant be everywhere ya know."
Perhaps TRob, who practically lives down here with his magical recruiting prowess prefers to run under the radar. Sneak up on the bad guys, so to speak. Yeah, that's it. We get snubbed for the good of the team. Note heavy sarcasm amigo 92 !!!

Judging anyone based on last years O may not be the true value of that player.
I won't be slamming any player even if the quick judgement some need to make is correct, when that player gets their degree.

Disappointed SW Florida is completely left out. Spurrier used to come every year. Meyer would come every other year and then send an assistant the other year. I am assuming we will get an assistant, hopefully Roper, but it would be nice to hear what Muschamp has to say.
