A Happy Tiger Is A Dangerous Tiger!

Scandal seems a world away as Woods - back at No. 1 - arrives in Augusta, relaxed, ready and at peace.

Tiger last won the Masters in 2005

    >> There's just something about Tiger Woods this year.

The look is different, the swagger is back. The joy is evident, the smile is more frequent. And with club in hand, he is reminiscent pf the Tiger who dominated the sport for a decade. <<

    Mickelson Ready To Unleash "Phrankenwood"

    >> Less than two weeks before Phil Mickelson won the Masters in 2006, he concocted a strategy to put a pair of drivers in his bag: One he could fade, the other he could draw.

Seven years later, Mickelson is bringing another bold experiment to Augusta, replacing his driver altogether with a special club made by Callaway and marketed as the "X Hot Phrankenwood."

    "It's an enhanced 3-wood," Mickelson said. <<

So would anybody else have gotten a 2 stroke penalty for what Tiger did? Or would they have been DQ'd?

Do they sign after every round or just at the end of the tournament? Because they said that Augusta didnt review it until this morning and imposed the 2 stroke penalty.

New rule change prevents the DQ. The penalty was not known until after he was on 18, WHEN A TV VIEWER CALLED IT IN.

sign the card after each/every round. did the drop occur in yesterday's round? was it on the 15th hole? or where did it occur?

if it was yesterday -...geezus, all of us common folk would probably have been DQ'ed.

On Friday at the Masters I noticed that a somewhat beat-up Gator bag had shown up on the first tee. Watched to see the owner; it was T.J. Vogel, a 22 year old Gator who won the Amateur Public Links championship to qualify. I gave him a restrained "Go Gator" and he seemed appreciative to be acknoledged at such a hallowed event, giving me a Thanks before he began the 2nd round.

Unfortunately he missed the cut, but another Gator, 41 year old Brian Gay made the cut in his second Masters.

Not sure what hole but it was the shot where he ringed it off the flagstick and put it in the drink.

i don't think i would have penalized tiger for that drop. went back to where he hit it, dropped 2 yards behind that location. but you have to either drop as close to the spot as possible or drop as far back as you want to go keeping the line where the ball last crossed the hazard between you and the pin.

i think i would rule that what he did qualifies. but apparently he needed to be over on theone side of the fairway. to me though, i think the intent of the rule was met.

The golf guys on ESPN this morning were asked what score Tiger would have to shoot to win. They said 66. That would have put him at -9 and in the playoff.
