USCe at Georgia, Line: Georgia favored by 2.5 ***TOP PICK!***

    USCe 2012: 11-2

    Total Offense: 82d ……..…Lost Starters Offense: 4
Total Defense: 11th……....Lost Starters Defense: 6
    Recruiting Avg, 2009-13: 18th, Star Avg: 3.25
Last Week: Defeated North Carolina, 27-10

    Georgia 2012: 12-2

Total Offense: 22d..………..Lost Starters Offense: 3
Total Defense: 32d..………..Lost starters Defense: 8
    Recruiting Avg, 2009-13: 10th, Star Avg: 3.56
Last Week: Lost to #4 Clemson at Clemson

    Talent Edge: Georgia
    Experience Edge: USCe
Offense Edge: Georgia by a comfortable margin
Defense Edge: USCe, by a massive margin

    Analysis:
Georgia plays at home and is doubtless fired up by losing to Clemson the previous week. Their defense didn’t do badly against Clemson’s high-powered offense (456 yards allowed), and they gained a ton of yards on the Tigers, but Clemson doesn’t have USCe’s defense. The Gamecock offense is nowhere near as strong as Clemson’s, but they are a defense-oriented team, and will pressure Murray. Losing their top WR for the year will not help them. I believe that Shaw/Thompson will control the ball long enough to keep Georgia’s offense off the field, and that USCe’s defense will force mistakes, enabling USCe to score from short fields.

    Prediction: USCe 31, Georgia 24

Florida at Miami, Line: Florida favored by 2.5 ***TOP PICK!***

    Florida 2012: 11-2

    Total Offense: 103d ……..…Lost Starters Offense: 5
Total Defense: 5th…….......Lost Starters Defense: 7
    Recruiting Avg, 2009-13: 6th, Star Avg: 3.72
    Last Week: DefeatedToledo, 24-6

    Miami 2012: 7-5

Total Offense: 32d..………..Lost Starters Offense: 1
Total Defense: 113th..…...Lost starters Defense: 3
    Recruiting Avg, 2009-13: 20th, Star Avg: 3.29
    Last Week: Defeated FAU 34-6

    Talent Edge: Florida
    Experience Edge: Miami
Offense Edge: Miami by a comfortable margin
Defense Edge: Florida, by a massive margin

Analysis: Both Florida and Miami played mid-majors last week, so it is hard to go by what happened to them the previous week. Miami plays at home, but Florida will have probably half the fans there. Florida’s offense is a reflection of their head coach, as is their crushing defense. Miami returns nearly everyone from last year’s solid offense, and their horrible defense last year returns much experience, so they are bound to improve (last year, the Canes gave up 537 yards to Boston College and 355 yards to Bethune Cookman, while this year, gave up only 250 yards to FAU). That said, with RB Matt Jones returning, Florida will pound Miami’s still vulnerable run defense, thereby eating clock time and keeping their ravenous defense fresh and hungry. This game is essentially a mirror of the USCe-Georgia game, except that Miami is not at the level of Georgia.

    Prediction: Florida 31, Miami 14

Other games (why all the lopsided games? Just doing the SEC this year?)

Samford at Arkansas (Little Rock) (-32.5) – Arkansas 47, Samford 7
Arkansas State at Auburn (-12.5) – Auburn 34, Arkansas State 17
Miami (OH) at Kentucky (-17.5) – Kentucky 28, Miami (Ohio) 14
    UAB at LSU (-34.5) – LSU 54, UAB 3
SEMO at Ole Miss (-48.5) – Ole Miss 61, SEMO 7
Alcorn State at Mississippi State (-42.5) Miss State 44, Alcorn State 3
    Toledo at Missouri (-16.5) – Mizzou 27, Toledo 14
Western Kentucky at Tennessee (-13.5) Tennessee 37, Western Kentucky 24
Sam Houston State at Texas A&M (-45.5) – Texas A&M 66, Sam Houston St 7
Austin Peay at Vanderbilt (-46.5) – Vandy 54, Austin Peay 3

Can't wait for the real season to start. Enough of these rent-a-wins...

South Carolina at Georgia (-2.5). There’s no place like home…

Samford at Arkansas (Little Rock) (-32.5) …except when a home game really isn’t at home.

Arkansas State at Auburn (-12.5) ASU isn’t as good as Washington State last week.

Florida (-2.5) at Miami. Sorry, Miami, I refuse to grant you home-field advantage that Vegas has given you because I KNOW there are going to be more Gator fans in the stands! The line should be higher. *** TOP PICK ***

Miami (OH) at Kentucky (-17.5) It’s bad when a directional school beats you in your own house.

UAB at LSU (-34.5) Concerns about the Tiger offense were greatly overstated.

SEMO at Ole Miss (-49.5) The Rebels haven’t beaten anyone by 50 points since 2008.

Alcorn State at Mississippi State (-42.5) ASU isn’t just any FCS team, they are a really bad FCS team. Sam Houston State could hang 40 on them. And with MSU’s bad-looking loss on the road last week, the dogs WILL NOT get called off here.

Toledo at Missouri (-16.5) This line is a total slap in the face to the Gators. Since we beat Toledo last week by 18, Vegas is basically saying that Missouri is just as good as we are. The line is too high.

Western Kentucky at Tennessee (-13.5) The ‘Vols almost had the spread covered at halftime last week, but Butch called off the dogs. After this game, we’re all going to realize just how bad Kentucky is this season and Petrino won’t look as good as he did last week.

Sam Houston State at Texas A&M (-40.5) SHS isn’t just any FCS team, they are a pretty good FCS team. The Aggie defense isn’t good enough to cover this spread, and SHS did score 74 points last week.

Austin Peay at Vanderbilt (-47.5) The Governors laid a goose egg against the ‘Vols last week and still managed to beat the spread. The way Vandy looked on defense last week, I think AP will get at least one score against them.

South Carolina at Georgia (-2.5) - UGA starts 0-2 and the grumbling starts in Athens. What happens when they lose in 3 weeks to LSU??
    Samford at Arkansas (-32.5)
    Arkansas State at Auburn (-12.5)
Florida (-2.5) at Miami - TOP PICK! This may not end up being a blowout on the scoreboard, but I think we control the game and the clock. I think we have the ball 35-40 minutes.
    Miami (OH) at Kentucky (-17.5)
    UAB at LSU (-34.5)
SEMO at Ole Miss (-49.5) - Ole Miss was impressive last week on offense.
Alcorn State at Mississippi State (-42.5) - Alcorn State scored 63 last week while MSU scored 3.
Toledo at Missouri (-16.5) - I said last week that I think Mizzou is going to surprise some people on offense.
Western Kentucky at Tennessee (-13.5) - I think this game ends up a lot closer than anyone expects.
Sam Houston State at Texas A&M (-40.5)
    Austin Peay at Vanderbilt (-47.5)

Miami's O is routinely aligned against garbage defenses. When they do go up against a D with a pulse, they wilt under the pressure.
