New Smyrna Speedway and Orlando Speedworld are now Nascar sanctioned tracks. Orlando was just sold last week to Ozzy Moya, who becomes the first Latino Nascar track owner. Robert Hart has done a great job with NSS, repaving it not long ago brought a lot of Nascar teams for private testing because of the rules and it being a non Nascar track. That will now change to hosting Nascar races, like K&N Pro Series and keeping the World Series of Asphalt during Speedweeks as one of the premier short track events in the USA.

Corvette on CBS Sunday Morning with just a glimpse of Rick Hendrick's collection. And that's only his Vettes. He is buying the first 2014 Vette off the line. I'm betting I'll see at least one on display this week.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Race fans won’t miss a minute of the action when SPEED, SPEED.com and the Motor Racing Network combine to provide 25 hours of flag-to-flag coverage of the 51st Rolex 24 At Daytona, kicking off the networks’ coverage of the complete 12-race 2013 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series season.

SPEED’s Rolex 24 coverage begins at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 26, with a 30-minute pre-race show preceding the 3:30 p.m. waving of the green flag.

When SPEED signs off on its opening day coverage at 11 p.m., SPEED.com will stream feeds throughout the night, including a rooftop camera, in-car cameras and radio calls by the Motor Racing Network.

SPEED returns at 9 a.m. on Sunday, with coverage including a 30-minute post-race show following the checkered flag at 3:30 p.m.

Daytona coverage also includes the Ferrari Challenge, which airs 3-4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 2 followed by the GRAND-AM 200 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race from 4-6 p.m. ET.

Infield camping is almost completely SOLD OUT. Pit Road Patio is sold out. They are selling tent & RV spots in the west lot, outside the track, for the first time ever. Its hard to believe the crowd could be bigger than the "50th" crowd last year.

Video from Magnus Racing. Last year's Rolex24 GT Champions. Cool tech effects. If you are familiar with them, its even more hilarious.

They will also be livestreaming the entire 24hr race from pit road, giving away swag prizes. http://www.livestream.com/magnusracing

Visit Florida DOT com was Patrick Dempsey's sponsor last year and since he can no longer run his RX 8's they needed a new team to carry their livery. I hear Dempsey may be back next year in a DP.

Yeah, Patrick is running LeMans this year in LMP2. He just teamed up with some soccer player last week and announced it. Joe Foster said they are not running G-A this year while getting long term plans together for the ALMS/GA merger. They should definitely return next year. Last year Patrick ran a Multimatic Aston Martin in the Conti race and that car was P1 in practice yesterday.

What a weekend. My friends won Friday in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series race. Billy Johnson, teammate of Jack Roush Jr, won in the GS class #61 Mustang. Lara Tallman and Vesko Kozarov won ST class in the #33 Skullcandy Nissan. Congrats to Billy and Lara and their co-drivers. Saturday I saw AJ Foyt while leaving pit road before the race. He just happened to be walking next to me, and was nice enough to snap a photo with me after we were behind the wall. It was great to see him because he was supposed to be Grand Marshal last year but had to cancel because of surgery/health reasons.
Took over a thousand pics, might post some after I sort the 20 good ones out. Saw Jordan Taylor's hand after the race this afternoon- Blistered to pieces. He finished 2nd. Ricky Taylor was 5th in the Spirit of Daytona car. Weather was perfect all weekend.

    Now it is Nascar season.
