Maybe its because there are no other teams that will spend the money it takes for the change to an LMP1. ALMS had very few cars other than GT. DPs demolish GTs, do you still want GTs?

No, the GT's are basically bought-from-showroom and then *detuned* for racing. you have to remember that I'm an old Can-Am and Le Mans pre-chicanes guy. Next to that, cars these days are gerbil-powered.

GRAND-AM: Teams, Drivers Weigh In On DP-LM24 Talks

For Starworks Motorsport’s Peter Baron, who celebrated on the top step of the LMP2 podium in 2012 following his team’s class victory, returning to Le Mans, but with a DP, would also be something special for the longtime GRAND-AM entrant.

"I think the cars would be very good there,” Baron said. “The DP car's strengths are more straightaways than turns, so that would cater to Le Mans for sure. It would be very cool to do that.

"If we could have a proper race with a fair amount of cars swapping for the [class] lead, it would be a great way to introduce American DP racing.”

New Nascar Gen6 have more changes than I thought. I've not been paying enough attention.

Check out this 2014 Mercedes F1 engine

"The engines are going to be loud but, I think, sweet-sounding," he said. "The frequency will be higher and, with the turbocharger running at 125,000rpm, they will be loud. When you are stood next to it on the dyno it is not quiet and you need ear defenders.

I'm assuming you meant 12,500 rpm, down considerably from 18,000. I thought that Bernie was going to fight this tooth-and-nail ?

No doubt they'll be loud. But will they be 'sweet-sounding' to fans accustomed to the trademark high-pitched whine ?

The internet coverage is better than tv because Kyle Petty & Kenny Wallace are hilarious telling stories. Viewers sending in relevant pics and tweets are awesome. KP was talking about the new body parts being actual factory ordered panels. Someone sent an old pic of KP cutting a front bumper from a rental car with a sawzall that they welded it on his racecar at the track. True story.

In all 268 competitors from 32 states including Canada, Australia, and Finland competed in the 2013 Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.
Kevin Swindell won his 4th straight title last night, with his dad Sammy finishing 2nd again. Tony Stewart finished 15th, JJ Yeley 19th after making it through the B Main. Kyle Larson gave the Swindells an epic battle from lap 10 to lap 18 until Larson spun.
    Thrilling action in this clip...

Kasey Kahne was in a G Main but did not start. His sprint car driver Brad Sweet was 3rd in the A Main behind the Swindells. There were 21 races yesterday finishing a great 5 nights of racing on the 1/4 mile indoor dirt track.
It will be televised on NBC Sports on Sunday Feb.10 at 4:00pm ET.

    LOLWUT?

Driver disqualified for offensive Facebook post
In what Speedcafe.com believes is an Australian motorsport first, a driver has been disqualified from the Australian Sprintcar Championship in Brisbane for a derogatory Facebook post.

Albury racer, Grant Anderson was eliminated by officials on Friday afternoon after slamming them on his personal Facebook. In the profanity laden post, he branded Australian Sprintcar officials as ‘assclowns’ among other claims.
