It's that time of year again. The brackets are complete, any games this week are non district games and don't mean squat as far as the playoffs.

Mainland (ranked #7 in lass 6A) beat Ft Pierce Central (#3 in 8A) with a furious rally 31-28.
They cut the lead to 28-21 with 3:19 to go, tied it up in the last minute, and intercepted a pass and kicked a FG with :06 to win.

No way FPC is ranked #3 in 8A Manatee, Miramar & Apopka are all nationaly ranked teams, that would be your 1,2 & 3 in any state poll. You must be talking the Orlando Sentinel ranking of local teams.

Correction FPC is 5th. ....3rd was from the DB News Journal. I just looked at Orlando and it says 5th in 8A.

Yeah Maxpreps has them 8th in 8A behind Manatee, Miramar, Apopka, South Dade, First Coast, Dr Phillips, & Plant. I imagine with a loss they will be way back now.

Reguardless I wasn't trying to disrespect you, just pointing out that Manatee, Apopka and Miramar have pretty much distanced themselves from the rest of the field in 8A. It would take a pretty big upset for one of those three not to win 8A. You never know though in a playoff situation anything can happen.

I may have to rethink my assesment of 8A division. Deerfield beach beat Saint Thomas Aquinas soundly tonight. There may be some competition for Miramar in the south region.
